Sep. 8, 2007 - Reflections of the Road Behind Us
It is hard to believe that we have just started our third year of homeschooling. Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday we were sitting around the kitchen table discussing the pro's and con's of pulling I* out of public school. I will never forget the that evening, because my husband and I learned a lesson of faith from our little boy. You see, we were so busy thinking about all of the practical reasons it was time to bring I* home when our little boy had the most important reason in mind all along. When we asked him what he thougt the pro's of homeschooling were, the first thing out of his mouth was that he could learn about Jesus at school. In fact he didn't have a single reason why he thought he should return to a classroom full of peers. Looking back, we can see that he was so right.
It has been an amazing journey filled with laughter and tears, trials and triumphs, hard work, and determination but we are encouraged by the promise that if we trust in the Lord, He will direct our paths. We have truly enjoyed learning together and look forward to the year ahead.
