• Jan. 5, 2007 - Double Choc Ginger Ice Cream

I found a great recipe on a condensed milk can. It's simple enough for kids to make and tastes far, far more scrumptious than it deserves to be considering how quick and easy it is to throw together. And I'm sure it's much healthier than commercial ice-creams with all of their extra flavourings and colourings. I can guarantee that it definitely tastes better than most.

600 ml cream

395gram can condensed milk

200g dark cooking chocolate, melted

1 teaspoon ground ginger.

1/2 cup white choc chips.

Melt cooking chocolate. Combine cream, condensed milk, dark chocolate and ginger in the large bowl of an electric mixer. Beat until thick and creamy. Cool slightly and gently fold in white choc chips. Freeze until firm.

And that's all. Enjoy.

So many uses for condensed milk. Who knew? ;o)
Yes, juggling is very meditative once you know the basics. I think that was why I took to yoga so easily. Amazing how you can find your zen in so many ways!
By the way, I don't think it's your computer, I had a lot of problems posting comments today, too.
Peace,
Cristina

Yummy! I am going to add that to my "I want to make that someday" list. I just got a recipe for dulce le leche yesterday using condensed milk, too. I am going to have to go buy some soon.

It reminded me that we haven't read your book yet!! *blushing* Sorry about that! I'll put it on our list and make sure that my 13yr old knows that the author is one of my "close, personal friends." That'll score some points for me too! ;o)

As always, thanks for commenting,
Cristina

Hi Paula,

This sounds good, especially since I've been wanting to make my own ice cream and I'm not willing to pay for an ice cream maker! We always buy condensed milk during the holiday sales and then it sits there, waiting for me to use if for something. Thanks! Have a great weekend!

Kate

P.S. Thanks for your nice comment!
