Pregnancy, vans, and kitchen tables
Although I have been pregnant, what, something like five and a half years out of the last 14, I am not pregnant now. My baby is eight months old, and I would really like to not be pregnant for another, say, four months. Maybe even longer.
The next baby will make 8, which is where you absolutely have to get a real van (we're driving a Suburban now), and I've been dreading this for a really long time.
Also, we have to do something about the kichen table situation, we're pulling a high chair up to a table that seats 8. But we have no room for a larger table, unless we give up our living room. And I don't want to eat in shifts (as my sweet husband suggests).
So, I'm not ready for number eight yet. |

I can relate (...so to speak)
I was wrong. We don't have two six foot conference tables in our dining room; we have two eight footers. Because of the size of our dining area, however, we still only have seating for ten--four on a side and two on the ends. The opposing ends are against the wall, limited by the (lack of) space. You can see a picture of them in my most recent post.
When we had to purchase a larger van, I insisted it be a 15 passenger, rather than a 12. I just knew a 12 passenger would too soon be too small. And the greater seating has allowed us to transport many friends on various occasions, so I'm glad we bought it.
(It is a beast to park--though I'm getting better at it.)

tables
| Our new chairs are exactly like yours. Our new tables are white plastic and only 6 foot long, so we have been pulling up two chairs on each short side and three on one long side, right now we only need 2 on the other side. But, there are eleven of you, right? What do you do with the little one? |
