Arrows in the Hand

• Sep. 22, 2008 - scripture memory

I thought I would share the scriptures we have been learning this year and share the best way I have found to learn scriptures. We started using the scripture memory system   from Simply Charlotte Mason(No it is not something you have to order for lots of money, it's free, you  just need to buy a couple things from wal-mart!) We have been using it for about a month and we are working on our 10th scripture. The kids are learning them so fast that I am shocked! We say the scripture that we are trying to learn plus the ones that we are supposed to review for that day in the morning and at night before bed. The kids make up hand motions for the verses and it really does help you learn it. Some of the verses we get from our devotion using keys for kids ,some I have just added, and some are ones the kids are learning at IHOP (international house of prayer). The Ihop verses are great tools for the child(or Adult) to use when they are  praying for themselves or others(I have marked these for you). I will try to add to this list as we learn new ones. Anyway here is the ones that we have been doing.

1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

1 Peter 1:18-19
You were not redeemed with silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ.

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Acts 5:29
We ought to obey God rather than men.

James 4:8
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you...

2 Thess 3:1
May the Word of the Lord run swiftly and be glorified...   (IHOP)

2 Thess 3:5
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ. (IHOP) At IHOP the kids pray this over themselves and their family just change it to Lord direct my heart into.....or
Lord direct my mommy's heart into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.
Lord direct my daddy's heart into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

Eph. 1:18 (IHOP)
May the eyes of  your understanding be enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling...
This is one of my favorites to pray for anyone and everyone, I pray it for myself all during the day!!

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever beliveth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1 Peter 3:8-9(we are fixing to start this one)
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or  reviling, for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
Psalms 100(this is the scripture we are starting next, for Thanksgiving.)
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
