We had a super (long and tiring) but WONDERFUL morning today.  We were hanging the art show!  This year my 17 year old daughter took on the art show as her "project" and she did a fabulous job of organizing it from start to finish. ( I guess you could say that I'm just her receptionist at this point!) 

At any rate, we had some of our entrants come down and help us get it up on the beautiful new walls of our lovely library, Sand Creek. It took us about 5 hours give or take~but it was worth every minute!  We are so blessed to see all the art work that came in from all ages.  We have our judges stopping by this week to do their part and on Saturday, we have our reception!

Hello Artists,

I have good news for anyone who wanted to enter but missed the deadline!

We are extending our deadline to Friday the 21^st so you still have a little time but hurry you don’t want to miss this opportunity to display your art!

If you don’t think your forms will arrive in time by mail then please email your info to me. Just make sure that you send all the information that the entry form asks for.

The Homeschool Artist Showcase needs your help!

We are looking for families that will volunteer to help hang the art Tuesday, September 1^st at the Sand Creek Library. If you are interested please email me at HomeschoolArtists@q.com  We cannot put on the show with out your help!

The art show is free, however we still need donations to defray the cost of ribbons and other supplies. If you would like to help in this way you can make checks payable to Nancy Baetz. We thank you for you support.

Hello to all Colorado Springs and surrounding area homeschoolers!  It is time to get your pencils, crayons, paint brushes and cameras out and get started with your art projects!

 We are nearing the deadline for sending in entry forms which is August 17^th. 

 You can find our entry form and rules on the right sidebar.  Under “Links” just click “entry form”.

All the info. on when and where to drop off and then pick up your art can be found on the first page of the entry form under the heading Rules and Helpful Hints.

We hope everyone who participates in the art show will join us for our opening reception! It will be held at the library, Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. All the art will be judged before the reception so come on over bring your friends and family and see how you did!

Please Note:

This year we are unable to display framed pieces of art. All art must be matted or mounted on stiff poster board only.  Please mat or mount your artwork as professionally as you can.  Please email us if you have any questions or need help with that.  Our contact info. is on the registration forms.

 One of the best things about the Homeschool Artist Showcase is that is no fee for participating however we are asking for donations to help defray the cost of things like ribbons and certificates.

 If you would like to help you can send your donation along with your entry form.  Every little bit helps!
