Aug. 31, 2008 - My Day

I've been taking care of a Infant Simulator which cried all night long I got 4 hours of sleep max.
Today I've been trying to nap while she's asleep. I've been bored all day. I got up around 9am the baby fell asleep around 11 I took a catnap until 12 woke up to feed baby. Ate lunch, took another little nap waking up to take care of baby every little while. I cleaned up the Family Room a little, straightened up my room and got on the computer . That's about it...I'm bored and tired!

Mar. 23, 2008 - Resurrection Roll Recipe

Supplies:

  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 1 to 2 TBSP. melted butter
  • cinnamon & sugar mixed together
  • cookie sheet
  • 1 package of crescent rolls (makes 8)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven according to package directions (usually 375 degrees).
  2. Roll out the crescent rolls (making 8 triangles).
  3. Dip a marshmallow into the butter. Explain that when Jesus was buried, precious oils were used to annoint His Body. The butter represents the oil. The marshmallow is Jesus.
  4. Roll the marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar. Talk about the spices used to prepare a body for burial when Jesus was here on earth. These spices represent the spices that were used to bury our Lord.
  5. Wrap the marshmallow tightly in the crescent roll dough, closing it as tightly as possible. (No marshmallow should be showing when you are finished.) This is the burial cloth, the shroud, that covered Christ in the tomb.
  6. Bake the rolls according to package directions (usually 11 to 14 minutes).
  7. When they are finished baking, ask the children what happened on Easter morning. Read the story of the women going to the tomb that day, and show the freshly-baked rolls. (The rolls now represent the tomb, now that they are baked.) When the children bite into the sealed "tomb," they will find that Jesus is no longer there!

The rolls, in case you are wondering, taste a lot like cinnamon rolls (Cinnabon, if you will). They make wonderful deserts for Easter Sunday.

Enjoy!
