Feb. 8, 2010 Yeah! Quote time again :D
Quote of the Week: February 8th, 2010
You plus God equals enough. ~ Zig Ziglar
Ah! I just draw strength from the truth of that statement. No matter what storms come upon me, I can lean on Him to get through. In myself, I find no strength whatsoever. It is only because of the strength He gives me that I can, and will, carry on. Memorize this (along with Scripture), so that when those days come when you just feel like you can’t carry on you will be reminded that, “You plus God equals enough.”

Feb. 4, 2010 Be Ye Thankful....In All Things
Thankful Thursdays: February 4th, 2010

“Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things;” Deuteronomy 28:47
This week I am thankful. I truly am. The LORD has blessed me so much the past 7 days. I shall begin my list, but know that the list goes far beyond what words can convey. If I were to list everything you would never reach the end of this post! J So, without any further ado:
I Am Thankful For:
1. The sunrise of each new day and that each day holds rock-solid promises and new potential for me as Child of the LORD.
2. I am thankful for quiet time with just me and God. Where my soul is fed and reassured as I pour everything out in prayer.
3. The innocence of children. Their laughter and light-hearted view of the world.
4. Cleansing tears that bring sweet relief.
5. A faithful God who gives and takes away all for our good.
6. The fact that there is only one man who was specifically created and tailored for me and that he is right where God has him.
7. Singing….what joy it brings to lift your voice in melodious praise to the Maker of your soul!
8. For the trials in my life because they are bringing me closer to the Master I serve.
9. That I may come boldly to the Throne of Grace and have an intimate, face-to-face relationship with God, my Father. That the veil is no longer an obstacle and we can go into the holy of holies to speak with and look upon the face of our holy and mighty God!
10. That God is God and I am not. That He is perfect and does what is perfect. That I always can count on Him to do what is not only right, but also what is best!
11. For snowflakes falling and late night walks through the woods with family.
12. When I wake up early enough to see the sunrise over the horizon while drinking my cup of coffee.
13. For books and night time stories with just me and the Littles.
14. For my dog Chloe, (ok, so technically she’s Mom’s dog but I really am trying to divert her loyalties elsewhere. J) she brings so much joy to our household!
15. For a budding cactus plant with hot pink flowers in the living room, to remind me that even in seasons of winter God can bring life!
So what are you thankful for this week? In what ways has God revealed Himself to you personally, in an intimate and loving way?
“Whatever season of life, attitude makes all the difference.” ~ Unknown

Feb. 2, 2010 Verses To Ponder and Encourage
Portion from My Favorite Psalm 145
“I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, and I will tell of Your greatness. They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness and will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.” Psalm 145:1-7 (Emphasis Mine)
May we be the “I” and “they” that this Psalm is talking about! Let us bless His name every day! May we look for things to be thankful for in all situations and realize that whatever comes our way, He is allowing for our ultimate good! Praying your day if filled with a song in your heart and praise on your lips!

Jan. 28, 2010 Thankfulness, is it overflowing in your heart?

Thankful Thursdays: January 28th, 2010
“Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:18
Yet. It’s such a powerful word! Reading a few verses before 18 you can see why. He was prepared that even if the world was falling apart around him, yet. Yet, he will praise the LORD! What an awesome word picture for me, as well.
Sometimes I feel like my world is crashing down around me, my dreams scattered on the floor, and that my heart breaking and downcast, yet there is more! Yet, God is always there, He is always present, always strong, always able, always trustworthy, always faithful, and always the same, yesterday, today, and forever! (Hebrews 13:8) He is always there to pick up what seems like my broken pieces and put me together again.
In fact, it is always when “I” (my flesh and my plans) are broken and I am poured out that I can be filled with Him! That is generally when I find myself in the center of His will. He longs to be close to me but He cannot when I set myself up on the throne of my heart as god. He lovingly brings circumstances into my life to show me that I am not God. Only He can be the One I need, the Ruler of my heart, the Master of my destiny. It is in my brokenness that I find life and healing. It is when my plans die, that His come alive. Daily crucifying my flesh to His will, it’s what being His disciple is all about! A living sacrifice, a daily surrender, a lifestyle of obedient worship and a thankful attitude; with these we bless the One who continues to rain down His overflowing blessings upon us. Can we do any less in return?
So, this week I am thankful that in all circumstance I can give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18), because God never changes! He is always steadfast and continues to bless me by allowing me to be His child! There are so many reasons to thank Him even when we don’t understand His plan. When our hearts cries out in agony, it also calls out in praise, because we know that in His plan there is life abundantly. This is the mark of a true worshipper.
O LORD, may that describe your people. May that describe me! No matter what my day is like, may my lips never stop flowing in ceaseless praise to You! Though my world may crumble around me, yet, You remain the same. I praise you LORD! Give Him some glory people, He deserves our praise!
Thinking of His Endless Love For Me,

Jan. 25, 2010 Quote of the week
Ok, so it's not a real quote but this poem is so good I just couldn't resist!
In Him Alone,
Maiden Princess
True Beauty
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

Jan. 22, 2010 Lyrics to a song I really like....
Chasen - On and On
"Awake, tonight, I’m breathing the air of the night sky.
Listening, and wanting, an answer to questions we’re wondering.
I never thought that it would ever be possible,
To cross the lines we drew that govern what we say and do,
But no height, and no depth, can separate us.
Chorus: Some say we need a miracle, some say there’s no hope at all but I,
Know that Your love is strong, it goes on and on and on and on..
Rise up when it gets us down, we’ll be the voice in a blaring crowd cause we know,
Your love we lead us home, it goes on and on and on and on.
I’ve tried, my way; it always ends up being a mistake.
But You’re right, when You say, that You set the time for the plans you made.
I never thought that I could ever learn to let it go,
Somehow it’s better when I’m following the paths you show,
So I’m here, I’m waiting, cause I believe… Chorus
Some say we need a miracle, some say there’s no hope at all but I,
Know that Your love is strong, it goes on and on and on and on..
Rise up when it gets us down, we’ll be the voice in a blaring crowd cause we know,
Your love we lead us home, it goes on and on and on and on. Chorus
Refrain: There is no fear of belief; it’s just this cold reality.
That wants to take me, away from You.
There is no doubt in my life, that in your perfect time,
Your plans and your ways will unfold.
Some say we need a miracle, some say there’s no hope at all but I,
Know that Your love is strong; it goes on and on and on and on.
Rise up when it gets us down, we’ll be the voice in a blaring crowd cause we know,
Your love we lead us home, it goes on and on and on and on" |

Jan. 21, 2010 Thanksgiving Thursdays
Thankful Thursdays
“Rejoice always;”
1 Thessalonians 5:16
What am I thankful for this week? I am thankful that the LORD can make me into who He wants me to be. I do not have shoulder the burden of making myself perfect. Yes, I have a choice to strive to be perfect and to choose to obey His Word, but as hard as I try, I cannot make myself perfect. You have no idea what a relief it was to me when I realized what I had been trying to do and then gave it all to Him. I realized that I need to step out in faith, trusting that He can make me into the woman I need to be to glorify Him. I am thankful that He has the power to change me and mold me and make me a vessel ready for use, my part is to be moldable and pliable. Father, make me into a woman who is strong in your Word, set-apart from the world, and pleasing in your sight!
What are you thankful for today? This week? Please leave me a comment and let me know.
Your Loving Sister in Messiah,

Jan. 19, 2010 Thoughts.......
This verse has really been sticking in my “craw” lately! It is so true and yet so simple. Isn’t it often the easiest things we find the hardest to do? Let me know your thoughts about this and if you struggle as I do!
