| And I don't think you're crazy in the least! My wee one did not start solids until he was 15 months old...HIS choice. Around 10 months, we offered here and there, but he was never interested. When he was 15 months, he decided he was sort of interested in solids, but it was still a rarity. He wasn't on solids well, until he was around 2 years old, and this wee one was NOT small, in the least! IN fact, doctor told me time and again "I don't know what you're feeding this guy, but don't stop!!" LMBOOOO!! Yeah...erm...it's called breastmilk!! My guy finally self-weaned at 5 years 4 months. Looking back, I have to laugh at some of the things people said, or what they must have thought, him still getting his "mommies" at age 5...too bad they don't realise that in most societies, they nurse well beyond age 6! At any rate, it's a time in my life I would never change, and am SOOO thankful to G-d that He made me to be able to care for my guy so well...my guy, who not incidentally, is seldom ever, or has seldom ever been, ill. Breastmilk rocks!! |

| Nursing mommas unite!
Yep, weirdo American nursing mom here too...all my kiddos nursed past a year. They are healthy as can be. I must admit though, nursing the twins at 1 year of age was NOT a picinic. The pokes, the gymnastics and the hair pulling (mine and theirs!) was sometimes out of control...but so well worth it. They were preemies and I know it was momma's milk that got them up where they should've been with their "peers"... My little guy is now 11 months old and still going strong. I am so glad. I think God made mommas to nurse so everyone involved would take breaks out of their busy days and just cuddle and be close and quiet for awhile. Nursing...it does a momma good. :) Just a mom... |

| Hi again Babymaker!!!!
Just read an article on DHA for nursing moms. Moms need to supplement, not give it to the babies. They'd get it thru the breastmilk... You familiar with this? I thought DHA was derived from cows and isn't all that helpful for human babies...but I can't find my original source on this and came up with nothing on a google search. This would be a good topic...you have these types of topics in your blog...hint, hint... Smiles to ya~ Just a momma... |
