Jul. 10, 2006 - Starting My Course

I got my herb course through the Natural Nutrition Center today and started it. The first section I thought I would breeze through but have found myself learning quite a bit. My 9 year old daughter is interested (she said she wants to learn everything about herbs by time she is 11) and so she got out her notebook and I copied her some of my work papers to put in it. She takes her own notes and we fill out the worksheets together. This is great because this counts as school. We are trying to time the hours this year using the Homeschool Tracker and it is working great now that I am getting the hang of it. I will be sharing some information as I go along because I know there are women out there that would love to learn about this also. There is a need for us to reclaim the Dr. Mom position and take matters into our own hands!

We use and love herbs, oils, etc in our house. They are so amazingly beneficial. I also love Homeschool Tracker! I'm only using the free basic edition, but am contemplating buying the full version. Back to the OT; I think it is wonderful that your wee one wants to know about herbs...she just may be the next big herbologist!

It's great that you can do the course with your daughter. She'll learn a lot and you'll get to spend time with her sharing something that you love.
