Jul. 15, 2006 - Poultices and Fomentations
Poultice- Semi liquid applied to the skin.
It works for pain, inflammation, bites, sores ect.. The semi liquid is just the herb you are using mixed with liquid. You can mix an herb with aloe, water, tincture, tea or an extract creating the semi liquid and then put it on the skin. You use a cloth to hold it on. We made a poultice not to long ago and took pictures when my daughter hurt her foot.
This works great for small children. I usually recommend garlic tea for people that are sick but if the person is too sick or it is a fussy child it might be easier to make a garlic poultice and apply it to the feet. The feet are very absorbent and it will get into the body amazingly quick.
Fomentation- This one is easy! It is just a poultice with heat applied. If you do this it will speed the healing process up.

Someone also told me that if garlic tea is not, well, their cup of tea, that you can also stick a garlic clove in a banana.
