Sep. 7, 2006 - Wal-Mart Comes Out of the Closet

I get notices through AFA about happenings that should get any Christian fired up. Here was the latest one-

August 31, 2006

Wal-Mart asks for, and receives, permission to join homosexual marriage group

Wal-Mart comes out of the closet

Wal-Mart has asked for and received permission to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. The NGLCC is a leading promoter of homosexual marriage.

Read "Wal-Mart Partners With Gay and Lesbian Group"

Although Wal-Mart has never excluded homosexuals from being employees, customers, or suppliers, the company wanted to be more closely identified with promoting the homosexual agenda. Wal-Mart is now a "corporate member" of the NGLCC, putting their approval on the NGLCC's efforts to abolish the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. A Wal-Mart vice president will serve as an advisor to the NGLCC, helping them promote homosexual marriage.

Wal-Mart agreed to give $25,000 to the NGLCC and to pay for two conferences scheduled by NGLCC. Also, Wal-Mart will give homosexual-owned businesses special treatment when making purchases. Companies not owned by homosexuals will be moved down the list.

NGLCC called Wal-Mart's action "part of the company's ongoing commitment to advancing diversity (homosexuality) among all of its associate, supplier and customer bases."

Wal-Mart is offering the same kind of support for homosexual marriage which Ford Motor Company has been giving to homosexual groups for years.

Take Action

1. Send your email to Wal-Mart.

2. Wal-Mart often blocks our emails. To make sure your voice is heard, please call Wal-Mart's home office headquarters and ask for Chairman Rob Walton at 479-273-4000. Also, call your local Wal-Mart manager and express your concerns.

3. Print out and distribute our
Pass Along Sheet .

So, what does it take to stop shopping at a store like this? For me this does it. I have no problem spending my money elsewhere and it is sad that more Christians out there don't think this way. Don't we know any local people that sell beef, eggs or produce? Aren't there any other stores to go too? I had one person say to me "Well, where else are you going to shop?" Duh! I can go shop anywhere! It might take me 15 more minutes to make an extra stop or two. If we make those extra stops we can get to know more people and support them with our money. Then companies like Walmart won't be able to spend my money on things I don't agree with. It makes sense to me. Christians need to start being the squeaky wheel!

You know what? I've never liked Walmart, but this just takes the cake! I live in AR, so I'm quite tired of hearing the praises of Walmart. Before this, it was nothing personal - just an overcrowded, unorganized store that drives me nuts.

This needs to make mainstream media... but probably won't. I hope AFA finds that it is untrue.

I wish it wasn't so. I just went shopping at a different grocery store and hated it. And said to myself that it was definatly back to Wally world for me. I love my WM. I sent my email. Hopefully if enough of us write it will maybe change their minds, but that is doubtful.

And it is SOO sad that most Christians don't seem to care. I had told him that I wouldn't get a Ford because of them promoting the homosexual lifestyle and he said, well don't buy a GM either because some ones cousins brothers uncle may be gay too. ::rolling my eyes:: But his attitude is a lot of the same from other people I get.

The difference is that someone's brother's uncle being a sodomite is different because you are not giving that person your money and saying "Take this and support and encourage and persuade others to become sodomites". However, we can not complain about having that lifestyle taught everywhere and be giving our money to support that cause at the same time. That doesn't make sense to me and yet that is what we as Christians so often do.

That is good that you did not want to support Ford. I guess that boycott thing is working because they are losing some serious money!

Ooo, that is a good note about Ford. Maybe that should be brought out to Wal-Mart?

And very good point about uncles cousins brother...it is about what we are giving our money to and basically saying we are supporting.

Sep. 8, 2006 - Thank you for your comment...

I replied to it at the bottom of my reply to the ANONYMOUS comment I received letting me know what a disservice I am doing in homeschooling my poor children!! boo hoo...

As for the WalMart deal.... I really hate WM.
It's just that their products are cheap, their prices fluxuate, and most of their employees are rude.
I've felt this way for some time!
This is just the icing on the cake.
What do you expect from the world?

Now where am I going to shop?

Can't go to Target because they support Planned Parenthood and several other abortion friendly places in our local area...now WalMart!!!!

I think I'll be joining Costco or some similiar warehouse chain!!!

Where does a big family go to shop in a place that doesn't promote the garbage?

Oy.

Thanks for the heads up...

We're not wal-mart supporters and we have NOT set foot in a wal-mart store for about 4 years! No I don't miss it at all, and I honestly can say I have saved money by NOT going to wal-mart! I find that the things I REALLY need I can either get at the grocery store, or one of the dollar stores. If I can't find it, then I guess I really don't need it. I also shop the thrift store, and businesses owned by local individuals. We own and operate a small business and we know what it's like, but good for us, wal-mart screws up too much and we end up getting the business in the long run. As for Ford.....the local ford dealer isn't too popular. when it comes to repairs/work done on/for your auto, it depends on who you are how much it cost.

KUDOS to anyone who doesn't shop wal-mart at all! Besides what will happen if cina decides to stop trading with the US? almost all of our goods are now maunfactured in China.....thanks to the greed of the waltons, after Sam passed away.

Nov. 11, 2006 - Hope it gets Wal-mart where it hurts!!!!

I received the same notice from the AFA and another watchdog group. I sent an e-mail and thanked Wal-Mart for making my decision easy. When I have shopped there it gave me a headache. Too much commotion and clutter I also prefer to support small business. Did you hear the latest? Wal-Mart is going to rusume using Merry Christmas this year in a very big way and not be politically correct. I don't think their intentions have anything to do with having a change of heart rorm t decision to use Happy Holidays only last year, but instead Wal-Mart is attempting to show everyone they aren't all that bad!!!! A wolf in sheeps clothing in my opinion!!! Does anyone know anything about SHOPKO?

I think it is because they don't want to lose our business. Especially since they are being boycotted after Thanksgiving.
