Hey my name is Sarah and I'm 14 years old and I'm HORSE CRAZY!!!!!!! I ride English, Western, and bareback. I absolutely loooove to barrel race, jump, and gallop bareback! And once I have a new horse (by Christmas if all goes well) I will try jumping bareback!!! You see, I have a horse but she has bowed tendons so I can't do jumping or fast, tight turns like for barrel racing or pole bending and so on. I can walk, trot, and canter her but I have to be careful cause if her leg gives out and she can't catch herself then that could be really dangerous. Anyways, she's a 15.3hh bay Standardbred mare and a beauty! So now for the horse I will hopefully be getting....for my first horse show (which was this September on Candy) the guy who owns the stable with the shows called a friend of his to pick Candy up for us because we don't have a trailer yet and it didn't work out with either of our friends to haul. So that's how I met Frank. During the show we found out he owns a place with about 11 horses down the road a mile so he said he could let me ride his horses and help me with barrels. So now he's looking into a 3 year old filly (young mare) he's going to buy and give to me if another guy doesn't. We'll train it (it'll take only 3 weeks) and then move it to our house. We'll know by the 15th if the other guy got it or not. So I'm really praying and hoping Frank gets her! And then this spring I want to breed Candy to a big black Saddlebred stallion. Saddlebred/Standardbred is a good cross and I hope the foal turns out black cause it's my favorite color. Welp, here are some pics of Candy and Sunflower (Frank's horse). Me and Candy. Me riding Sunflower (Frank's horse) at my second horse show on November 4. She's awesome and extremely fast! She has great get-up-and-go and great brakes plus she turns sooo beautifully at a full out gallop while being just neck reined. And she's incredible at the 50 yard dash (her favorite event). Isn't she just beautiful?
Me on Sunflower at the show. It was just a fun show so they have fun events like barrel racing, pole bending, musical chairs (actually feed bags), the flag race, and others. This was the 'scurry race'. You had to "jump" three poles, go around a barrel, and jump them again on the way home. Sunflower didn't like going over them and gave me some trouble but I managed....lol.
