Its a ..... BOY!!!!!!
My sister Jessi is having a boy!! 
Exactly what they wanted! We are so excited! We got a outfit for him yesterday! His name will be Chad Allen and we are going to call him by both names because we already have a Chad ( and believe me one is enough lol!) Oh my, I hope hes not as crazy as his dad! Wow, I cant wait for his due date to roll around... Its in the beginning of August. My brother Rusty and Liz find out what their baby is on Monday! I will keep yall posted! They really want a girl so I hope thats what they get!! Well, I have to run so I will ttyl ~Aunt Kate~

Be Excited With Me !
Hello yall! Ive been havin fun this weekend! I went to Concord NC to a ladies meeting...it was so much fun! We got a hotel and spent the night friday. The meeting was soooo good! The speakers were very funny! And friday night, everyone in the building got at least one Viera Bradley purse!! It was so cool, one lady said she felt like she was on Oprah's show! Their was over 500 ladies in the church! Every year it gets bigger and bigger! The men take care of the food and clean up, and they did a wonderful job! I cant wait till next year... this ladies meeting and the campmeeting in Walterboro SC are my 2 favorite things every year! Speaking of the campmeeting ...Its in 5 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH! I am driving my family crazy! I LOVE the campmeeting! It is goin to to be April 21-23 .... I cant wait! And then 2 weeks after that its my Birthday! Happy Birthday To Me! Ellie's birthday is in 2 weeks....March 30th ....she will be 2 years old!! Lots goin on, Im soo excited about everything....March - May are our busiest months!
My sister is traveling back to GA from TN and she is traveling behind a tornado. She keeps calling bcuz the weather is soo weird. First they were in light rain, then it was extremely thick fog with ice on the side of the road from hail....then it was a thunder storm, but now she just called and said that they are passing all these big oak trees that are completely twisted up and branches are everywhere! I guess they just missed the tornado. I hope nobody gets hurt in this storm... we had one not too long ago and some people in our had a tree fall on both of their cars...it was bad. Welp, I dont have anything else to talk about so yall comment and give me somethin to do....I have 5 weeks to kill and if I dont have somethin to do I will go CRAZY! And you dont want that to happen! LOL!
PS . 5 days till Jessi finds out what the baby is!!! BOY or GIRL ?!?!?!?!?!?

Our Family Business!
Hey yall! I bet yall cant guess what we got today?! .......How in the world did you guess! Yep, your right its a carpet cleaning van! YEAH!! Dad went to get it today! Its a van with the machine in the back....so we are now "Carolina Carpet Cleaners"....catchy aint it! Anyway , does anyone want there carpet cleaned? Its so cool...my brother Justin is going to run it and once the business picks up hes going to quit his job at the hardware store and do the carptet thing fulltime, because it pays more and he can take off for things! My little brothers are going to help him after school for some extra money. My other brother Rusty( the policeman) is thinking about starting a carpet cleaning business too, but he will do it in his town so we arent competing. Mom and I are goin to do the bookwork and take calls, and dad is going to get the customers (bcause he talks to everyone....DUH.... hes a preacher!!). I cant wait , weve already had a couple of people say that we could clean theirs once we start. And there is a college near here that is taking bids for the job! I hope we get that , because that would be a good start! Well I have to go , they will be home soon with our new van! ttyl ~Kate

~ How do they do it? ~
Last night at the table, my little sis was singing pattycake, the itsy bitsy spider, and going through her abc's. She had everyone at the table doing it over and over and over! when we stopped she would tap your arm and say "cmon" (so cute!) and then shed start singing again.I got to thinking about how a little kids can make older people do just about anything! If you say no then they just bats those little eyes at you and make the cutest little face.... before you know it your doing the very thing you said you wouldnt! So what is it about those little people that we just cant resist ? I wish I knew....I would like to have some of that charm!
Liz's grandfather died Tuesday and she will be home tomorrow (Saturday) ...yeah! I miss her so much! I cleaned Rusty's apartment this past Monday...it looked like his room use to except for this time it was his whole house! Ok , im not a neat-freak but I cant let it get but so bad, then its time to clean! I think he is very lonely! Liz has been gone about 2weeks and he has been alone with his 4 year old son...I think hes goin crazy! But anyway today he is driving to michigan (10hrs.) and tomorrow he is driving back, while he is there he is picking up some furniture...thats why he is driving not flying! Thats a long trip, back to back like that so please pray for him. Well, I guess that is about all I have to say so Im going to go see what yall have been up to! ~Kate

Yall just wish you were this smart!
I have decided to share with you some very profound things I have learned over the years! Some of this you may have already discovered for yourself but I highly doubt it!! Yes, I have made some stupid mistakes and have done some of dumbest things you have probably ever heard of , but I live and learn! So where should I start....Well about a month ago I discovered that I love Firber One (the cereal) and I mean I LOVE it ! So I ate the entire box by myself (it took about 3 hours) it was great ! But as you probably know fiber swells up so about 4:oo in the afternoon....I didnt feel so good! Just for the record I didnt get sick , in fact I was perfectly fine except for one whopping stomach ache! Another thing I have done is something I would not recommend trying at home! My dad has a trap (not sure why) but its one of those bear trap things except its for small animals. Well anyway, my little brthers were setting it and then sticking a stick in it so it would snap....well if you know me at all you would know that of course I was barefoot. I wanted to set it ,so well ...it hurt! But nothin broke, I was completely fine....but I sure did bounce around for a few minutes! Also when I was like 6 or 7 I was playing with a staple gun ....my dad said to put it down before I got hurt but of course I just had to play with it a little bit longer....I ended up stapling my thumb in the wall! I still have a scar! Around thanksgiving last year, I was talking to Jessi in the utility room, and I was playing with our electrical box. I wasnt paying much attention to it until my finger slipped into a whole ....next thing I knew, I count get my arm to move! I was being electricuted and I couldnt get my hand off! I fianlly realized what was happening and I pulled my hand away....that was the wierdest feeling! I have also done that on a cow fence one time at my friends house but it was turned way down. At our old house we had a privacy fence around our yard. It was about 8 feet high and I decided to jump off, which wasnt bad , but I had cowboy boots on ... I thought I broke my legs! Well I guess that about all I am going to tell yall. Yall most think Im nuts but in my defense I have had 16 1/2 years to do this stuff! Course there is more but , there isnt time! and dont even act like yall have never been stupid ! If you dont try you will never know! Thats my motto... course it could have killed me, but thats not the point!So hope yall learned something! Next time you are thinking about doing something your not 100% sure about...please ask me first! Ive probably already done it! Well please comment me....bye!

Just Stuff...
Hey yall, so sorry I haven't been writing much lately...been kinda busy. Jessi and Chad are going to be here Thursday- Sunday! I cant wait till they get here! This weekend we are celebrating momma's birthday ... and we are going to eat shrimp and fish!! YEAH! Its going to be lots of fun! Today we started our worm project! We got a whole lot of worms and we are putting them in these buckets and I think they are supposed to eat the stuff we put in there and make more dirt! Sounds weird but I think thats what they are for?!?!? But anyway they are fun to watch! The babies are very tiny and are white! Did you know that worms arent male and female? They reproduce by themself! Isnt that cool! Hang out with me and you will learn all kinds of useless information ! Liz ( my sis-in-law) is in Michigan right now because her grandfather is very bad health and they exspect him to make it much longer so please pray for her and her family. Well thats just about all that I have to say so I guess I will talk to yall later! = )

Happy Valentines Day!
Today is Valentines Day! To celebrate I bought myself some clothes! Every girl who doesnt have anyone on Valentines should go out and buy the two most important " C's " in life...Clothes and Chocolate! Yep , new clothes and plenty of chocolate will do the trick....watching a chick-flick is also not a bad idea! I think Im going to watch "Magic of Ordinary Days"! My mom and I love that movie....but that girl treats him like dirt and he is so good to her....maybe thats not a great Valentines movie!! Oh, "The Importance of Being Earnest"! Now thats a good one! But I dont own that one so...thats out! There is always Mr. Darcey on Pride and Prejudice! But I have watched that one so much....Im afraid it might start skipping through the good parts!lol! Oh well, I guess I will just have to watch Magic of Ordinary Days....I will try not to let that girl on there ruin my valentines day! I just had a thought, how did chocoltae get to be the thing that everyone gives on valentines? Not that im complaining, I think it was a wonderful idea...it was probably a girls idea. For 3-4 weeks the stores are full of chocolate, I wish I would have thought of that! Well, anyway Ive got to go, ttyl ~Kate

What Ive Been Up To !
Awww Man ! Dont yall hate it when you type somethin and your at the very end and it gets deleted! I HATE THAT!!! So anyway, yall are going to get the not so funny cheap version of what I had written before! Sorry but im not goin to rewrite that whole thing again! lol
Ok so where was I...Oh yeah, What ive been up to. Well to start off (again) this past weekend we fostered a 5 year old girl, she was the smartest kid I have ever met! She can count money(quarters,nickles and dimes) , tell time (which isnt all that nice when it comes to bed time!) , she can count until you get tired of listening, she knows more rhymes, poems and songs then humanly possible, oh and the coolest thing is she can spell anything! We are keeping her again this weekend and we are goin to take her to the beach because she has never been before!
This past Friday we went to nana's for no particular reason ! We had alot of fun (as always!) ! We got there around lunch time and we had spaghetti, salad and of course dessert! It was so good! We stayed just that day and we got back that night around 9:45 or so.
Last Sunday, Mr. Sam (one of our churches military men) got some of his team to come to church, so we had 5 military families sunday morning! We had a church wide dinner afterwards and there was soo much food! It was really neat! They are going back to Iraq the end of this month so please pray for them.
This Tuesday , we went to nana's and spent the night. On the way down there it was raining somethin fierce! And of course, as soon as we pulled up to her house it stopped! This morning Jessi met us there and we all went shopping in Charleston!! I got 3 shirts!! Hey tomorrow is Valentines day and I have to get something...and it still counts if you buy it yourelf! I can rap it up really pretty tonight and forget about it and in the morning I will be surprised!! So anyway, we got home about 2 1/2 hours ago.
This next Thursday and Friday I am going to be babysitting my nephew Austin because Russell and Dad are going to S.C. to learn about the carpet cleaning business! My dad knows a guy who said they could tag along for a day or 2....we hope to start a family business. I hope that works out. It will be really nice for everyone to be able to take off at the same time and do stuff!
Well, anyway I have to go. I think it turned out to be just as long as the first time I wrote it but oh well! I will talk to yall later! ~Kate

WE ARE ADOPTING!! IM GETTING A LITTLE SIS!!
You know the little girl that I have been writing about (Ellie) well today we made up our mind! She is gonna be my little sister!!!!!!! Ive always wanted one!! I cant wait till it is finalized! Her next court date is in March so thats when we get to tell the judge! I am soo excited = ) .She has a little baby brother or sister that is gonna be born in May and we might be able to get "it" too but we arent sure if the jugde is gonna give it to a relative or not....but Ellie is ours!!!!!!
Today I went and got my hair cut! I like it alot...I got a couple of layers and the whole thing is about 2" shorter! I feels like all my hair is missing but I like it! Got to go ....ttyl!

Rabbits!!
Yesterday we went to pick up our first meat rabbits!! They are soo cute....we got 1 male and 2 females. The male is cute...his face is so chubby! We are going to breed them and butcher the young. Sounds kinda mean...eating a baby rabbit but, thats no different than eating beef or pork! I just hope we dont chicken out! They are awfully cute! We named the buck Peter! Like Peter Cottontail! But we still need some names for the 2 girls....any suggestions? They are snow white with red eyes....like a valentines bunny! Their fur is sooo soft! Ellie loves them! Its the first animal she hasnt been afraid of...I guess its because they are so calm and quiet. Yall really should get some! We have some extra cages so im goin to see if I can get myself some holand lops....they arent meat rabbits, they are more like pets. They stay small and are adorable. So I was thinking I might get some and then see if I want to try and breed them....and then sell the young. But we will see. Well I gotta run

Quitting piano and Changing rooms!
Today, I quit piano. Not that I didnt like it....but I just dont have time anymore and I have basically gone as far as my teacher can take me. She keeps tellin me that after this book I will have to go to college and take it there, and I dont want to do that! Ive been takin for quite some time and I have really enjoyed it! Its so relaxing sometimes to sit down and play a really pretty slow song. I will miss my teacher alot.. =_(
I am now miving into my sisters old room! We start painting tonight!! I will post pictures as soon as i get some! The colors are almost like my blog background! The walls are gonna be striped with a light pink and another pink about 2 shades darker... I cant wait to see it finished! I have to go now... Im sorry I havent written much lately but Ive been so busy . I will write again when I have the chance so ttyl

Rain?...Sleet?... Its SNOW!! YEAH!
I cant believe it!!! It finally snowed...and is still snowing! It started at 4 o'clock and its still snowing now(7:11) . I hope it is still snowing in the morning! But I doubt it. Its perfect snow for a snowball fight! So if I never write again, yall know what happened to me.... knocked unconcious by a snowball! LOL! Our little red chicken house looks so cute with a white roof! We started a fire a little while ago and later its hot chocolate time! Snow is the most peaceful thing ... its as if all of God's creation holds its breath while it watches. (except for Delta {my doberman} she tries to eat it!) But its so quiet and pretty the way it drifts down really slow! My brother (the fireman) has already had 2 calls 1 for a overturned car and the other for a car in the woods. So yall be careful if your traveling and if your not... what are you doing on the computer?!?!? Get out there and have a snowball fight! Talk to yall again soon!

Where Is The Snow!?!?!?
We arent getting any snow, I hate that ! If yall are getting snow... I DONT EVEN WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT! Yesterday it was freezing cold and rainy, last night it was even colder and it rained off and on, and today it is very cold and misting/raining! They said that Fayetteville (about 20 minutes away) is suppose to get 1-2 inches and we should get 1" or so... but where is it! One cool thing is, tonight the roads may freeze over! We havent had snow in 2 years! (well not enough to count for anything!) When we were building the log cabin, we had a really bad ice storm. Everything was pretty at first until it melted and then it was just fallen trees laying everywhere! We didnt want it then cuz it was slowing us down on the house, but now that we are moved in ....where is it ! Our house faces a 400 acre field, it would be so cool to see it covered in snow! Tonight we are going to have a fire in the woodstove!! I love the way it smells!! And of course, where there is a fire thereis... HOT CHOCOLATE!! Nothin like some good'ol hot choclate on a cold night!

Yeah, Im Home!
Hey everyone! Thanks for the comments! I had a great time in S.C and G.A. ... my sis is doing well, thanks for keepin her in your prayers. Our visit was so nice... i miss being around her alot!! But there is always the phone, I guess! My bro-in-law is CRAZY! He is one of those people that everyone likes! He is always telling me that we Hickman women arent submissive like we are suposed to be and he pitties the man who marries me!! LOL ! He is a nut! But youve got to love him! Besides its a good thing we get along so well cuz he is the only b-i-l I will have! He says that it doesnt matter what he says to me cuz he will always be my favortie b-i-l ! I wish I had another one so he would have to at least try a little! But he is right... hed probably stay my favortie!
Today we went to walmart for moms eye exam, it was sooo cold and rainy!! Joey and Jake wanted to get some paints for somethin they are workin on so i walked around walmart with them... next thing I knew we were looking at electronics! BORING!! I think they have a magnet in them and it just sucks them that way every time!! So I made them look at purses with me... they actually have very good taste! And then we looked at sunglasses... Joey looks really good in the aviator kind! I really like them anyway, so we will see if I can persuade him to get some ! Some of you guys out there are feeling bad for them right about now , but they were really enjoying themselves! When we got home one of our chickens was dead. It looks like somethin got it so we will have to keep a better eye on them. Well , I guess I will get going so ttyl

I'll Be Back Soon!
Hey yall, tomorrow morning we will be leaving to go to Charleston S.C. to eat with grandpa ( and of course to shop!) . We are goin to a church meeting around lunch and then tomorrow afternoon we are goin to Georgia where jess lives, she is having some trouble with her baby ( she is like 2 1/2 months along) doc says she needs to stay off her feet, cleary she doesnt know my sis!! She never just sits down! We will be back wednesday . Hope yall have a great week..... Dont have too much fun without me!

BOYS!! I will never understand!
Joey and Jake brought home some of their friends last night ... Wow boys can get loud! So last night I am on the computer and they are in the school room, having burp contest! So this one boys burp is like really awsome (but lets not encourage them !) . So I am sitting here minding my own business when....... BURP! Right in my ear! I knew they were gonna do somethin like that, because i know my brothers. But still that is so gross! So after I got tired of the oh-so-fun burp challenge I went to bed, around12:30. This morning I woke up in my room and all I could hear was them down stairs on the other side of the house... laughing and cutting up really loud! Next thing I know I dozed off again , but when I wake up . . . everything was really quiet!?!?!? So my mind is racing what are they doin now! I close my eyes again and next thing I know. There are 4 boys in my room and the first one in gives the loudest burp I have ever heard! I jumped out of my skin and of course they all died laughin! I thought it was pretty funny too... until they all stomped back down stairs waking up Ellie. But anyway, How was your morning!?
