Let's All Have Corn Syrup for Supper!

Posted in barbie life

Found on a vintage ad on the wall in Applebees restaurant:

"Karo Corn Syrup is the only syrup served to the Dionne quints. Its maltose and dextrose are ideal carbohydrates for growing children."--Allan Roy Dafoe, M.D."

Yum.

My mom always suggested Karo to me although I never did use it for the babies. Thanks for the info about the convention. I don't know whether we will choose to spend the gas to go or not. It would probably cost around $60 in gas to get there.

I used to give Karo to my kids to help them stop coughing. Now, I rub Vicks on their feet. They preferred the corn syrup. :-))

When I used to visit my aunt's house as a child, she made big stacks of pancakes and her kids used Karo corn syrup on them. I had Mrs. Butterworth's syrup engrained in me so I thought the corn syrup was nasty compared to that, but her kids seemed to enjoy it.
