Jun. 6, 2008 Kitty Hawk, NC: The Sand Dunes
OK, we're STILL in NC. On Saturday we went to the Sand Dunes:

Here's a picture of my mom and my brother up close:

And here's one of them actual distance:

They were ay least 2 stories high and it was a work out trying to climb them:

But once you were up, you had to come down (the fun part!):

Well, I guess I'm done with Kitty Hawk for now! I wonder what will happen next! ; D |

Jun. 6, 2008 Kitty Hawk, NC: The Wright Brothers' Museum
We're still in Kitty Hawk but we're visiting the Wright Brothers' Museum:

They have a replica of they're first airplane:

The REAL one is Washington, DC (we've seen that one too!).
Outside the museum is the ACTUAL place where they flew in the first airplane:

Each one of the stone markers show how far the airplane went (there were 4 flights):

It was pretty cool too stand in the exact place that Orville and Wilbur Wright stood 100 years ago! It was even more amazing when my dad mentioned that only 66 years later man landed on the moon! Well, I am going to write about something else now! |

Jun. 5, 2008 Kitty Hawk, NC
The next few enteries will be about our trip to Kitty Hawk. This one will be about the beach:

It was great, until I came into contact with a jellyfish! It hurt so bad! Never under estimate them, even the little ones! After that I didn't go back in the water! :O |

Well, not a tornado but it was almost a tornado. This is how it happened. After dinner one night, we were watching TV when a tornado warning came on. My dad was on his way home from work at the time. The warning was issued for several different counties including ours. When it started get really windy and it was raining and hailing, we hid my brothers closet. When the wind died down we went to see what had happened:

The hail was about the size of a quarter:

It got really foggy after that:

Here's what it did to our porch:

My dad got home OK and nobody got hurt! ; D |

There is this strawberry farm that we go to once a year.
Here's a picture of my friend's brother:

All that green behind him is strawberries! There are also some onions there:
Here's my brother with his 'mutant' strawberry:

And here's my family (except my dad):

I think that my brain wasn't working because I put on my favorite jeans and one of my favorite shirts. I got juice all over them! X P |

Apr. 21, 2008 "What IS that smell!?!?"
That was the question I was asking my mom one morning when I went into the kitchen. It smelled like hazelnut coffee.
After about an hour, my mom entered the kitchen and said, "Oh...it's the thing I put in the oven!"

Here's what they're SUPPOSED to look like:

Ugghh! They don't look good either way to me! Well, that's just another day at our house! :D |

My brother and I were in a 70's variety show last Friday. A bunch of our homeschool friends were in it too. There was the Jackson Five (7 in our case):

Side by Side:

Mission Impossible:

Here's my brother in a "Tight Rope" skit:

"The Annoying Bus Stop" skit (Which I was in but not till the end):

Sonny and Cher:

The Brady Bunch (Notice me as Marcia over in the corner):

And my personal favorite, The Osmonds:

At the end there was a surprise visit from Shaun Cassidy:

It was sooo fun for the kids in it and for the audience!

Mar. 12, 2008 Caper's Island
Last week we went to a barrier island called Caper's Island. We went with some of our friends from the homeschool group.
Here's a pic of our guide:

Ok, so we caught him off guard. And here's some pics of some crabs that were in a trap that they pulled up:

When we got to the island our guide let us go to explore:

Further up on the beach there were a bunch of trees that had been killed by the tide, bleached by the sun, and covered in barnecles:

In this one you can see the barnecles:

That's a barrier island for ya! I loved Caper's Island and I would LOVE to go again! |

Feb. 8, 2008 The first show of the year!
On February 3rd I went to the first show of the year. It's a hour drive and we were leaving at 7:00 a.m. so we had to get up at 5:20. I got about 5 hours of sleep.
Here are me and the Bean:

My friend came later in the day:
Yes, I know my eyes are closed. That just shows how tired I was.
We didn't do too well. We kept getting 5th:
Hopefully I will do better next time! : ) |

Feb. 2, 2008 Punkin, the attack cat!
Punkin is 6 months old now and has figured out that she has claws and teeth. She also knows that they hurt!!!
Here's some pictures of her attacking my mom's foot:
But that's not all she's atacking. I woke up one morning and mom handed me a napkin. " Go pick up Punkin's kill," she said.
The poor baby frog. I don't know about you but I don't think something as cute as Punkin, could kill something that gross.

My kitten Punkin has been with us for a few months and is already so much bigger than when we got her.
This is her at 5 weeks:

And here are some more recent pictures:

Notice the squirrel on the screen in the last picture. She's the first kitten I've ever had but unfortunately she won't be like this for long. |
