November 16, 2009 - My Big Two Year Old
My big two year old had her first potty success tonight. A poo poo on the potty! I've been telling her "poo poo" when I see her making that face and tonight she told me "poo poo" so we sat her on the potty and soon enough she had a success. It may be silly, but I couldn't be prouder.

October 28, 2009 - My Oldest
Here is my oldest waiting at the door for me to get her a plastic bag. She is heading out to the freezer in our garage to get us some meat. Don't you just love her little jacket? The arms are supposed to be short, although I think I'd like them better long. The jacket actually fits her correctly. It's like a Little Red Riding Hood jacket without the red. I wish I was a good enough seamstress to make something like that. I think I'd make them red ones just for fun.

September 21, 2009 - My Oldest
I find myself being really hard on my oldest a lot. Anyone else have that experience? I expect a lot of her. I expect her to set an example for her sisters. I expect her to lead by example and not by strong arming...to keep her temper in check. I expect her to do her jobs independently, but not try and be "the mom" when it comes to making sure her sisters do their chores (this is a REALLY hard one for her). I think those are good expectations...Yet, I think, I need to do more to encourage and praise her.
This last one is a particular issue with her. I'll send a sister in to help her with a chore because she often takes the brunt of chores because she's in charge of the chicken eggs and because she is just very good at doing jobs. Then, instead of it being a help, she practically stops doing the chore and gets after her sister/s for not doing the job right or staying on task. Then, almost every time (because I want to be consistent with the consequence), she ends up having to do that job all by herself. Somehow, I've got to figure out how to break this cycle.

September 18, 2009 - Playing With Unit Cubes
ONLY GIRLS would play with unit cubes like this. The black and white cubes on the end have to do with whether the person is a boy or a girl. The other colors denote which family they are related to. The number of blocks have to do with how old they are. :)

January 28, 2009 - Milestones For Abigail
Two more milestones for Abigail. Well, these aren't official ones, but they are important to me and I want to remember them.
Yesterday, Abigail (15 months) learned to move her stool where she wanted to climb up on it.
Today, she learned to climb up on the couch without anyone sitting there.

November 21, 2008 - Abigail's Big Tooth
I've been trying to get a good picture of my little toddler's big tooth. She has two teeth now, I guess. But, the second tooth that has come in is small, it's not a middle tooth, it's the next tooth over from her middle tooth, if you get what I'm saying. She has no bottom teeth. So, her grin is so cute! One big tooth. Here she is:
Also, my Rachel got in on the photo shoot, so here she is too, in all her cuteness:

August 19, 2008 - Happy Birthday Rachel
Happy 5th Birthday Rachel
My Rachel is turning five today. I can't believe it. Rachel is my always enthusiastic, funny, spicy, cuddly, and gung ho girl. As Rachel says herself, as she said yesterday as she was looking forward to her birthday, "I am so exciting!" Here are some pictures of Rachel now and from a baby.
I love you so Rachey!

August 10, 2008 - Rachel Loves Marionberries

Notice Anything???
OK. I know this picture is corny. My four year old just loves picking Marionberries. So, I photoshopped the picture on her behalf.
