Our Homeschool Tips
~Keep the Lord Jesus first and include Him in your day! Read God's Word FIRST and have prayer for your day.
~Scheduling is the key but keep your eyes open for God's hand in your day! He may send someone your way who needs you! When I first began homeschooling I became very discouraged and needed encouragement from other moms.
~In order to homeschool you need to stay HOME. I thought I needed to involve my girls in activities and we were running around like crazy! Looking back I see the most important time was teaching them skills from home. Daily chores, cooking, planning meals, sewing, etc.
~Getting involved in a Homeschool group was very important for me, MOM. I need the support of other moms who are likeminded!! This is still very important today and the moms in our group are some of my best friends.
~We have grown so much!!
G - Go to God in prayer daily (John 15:7)
R - Read God's Word daily (Acts 17:11)
O- Obey God moment by moment (John 14:21)
W - Witness for Christ by your life and words (Matt. 4:19)
T - Trust God for every detail of your life (1 Peter 5:7)
H - Holy Spirit - allow Him to control and empower your daily life (Galatians 5: 16-17)
My sweet daughter went shopping and can you believe she was thinking of her mom? She knows how much I love the Mast General Store and how I've admired these dishes for quite some time. They will fit perfectly in my kitchen corner cabinet with the glass door.
I have been stitching and admiring quilts in the new QUILT magazine I purchased a few days ago. I'm trying to decide which quilt I will begin next. This will be for my oldest dd and it must be easy enough for me to complete without becoming discouraged and never finish!
This is what I'm looking at thus far. It's not too difficult but we will have to design our own because she wants to use it for her bed and this is for a lap quilt size.
I decided to experiment with the applique since I'm a bit rusty on this stitching. Here's what I've come up with with some scraps I have on hand. This is only one of the six blocks it will take and the borders are pinwheels in mixed colors.
You are creative! I love the quilt square. I have often thought about making a quilt but I have never stepped out and actually done it. My mom loves to do quilts!
Thank you for the homeschool tips. They were a great reminder of what needs to be a priority in our lives.
Great tips! I know this, yet it's so easy to get distracted. And the "stay home" one was great for me to read. We get so busy sometimes...I just need to learn to say NO! :-)
I started a small quilt when I was first married...but never finished it...sigh. I loved piecing together the top, but not the quilting. Do you hand or machine quilt? Please post photos of your progress, maybe I'll get inspired :o)
Thanks for dropping by - yes, I did design my blog. I'm a fiddler by nature, so I couldn't resist messing with it, lol! I really enjoyed visiting your blog!
