Stinky Day

Elections didn't go well at all.  It is so depressing.  And the shooting at the base in Texas.  I'm so glad this world is not all there is because that would really stink.  Have a good day.

Today my daughter and I are going to church. We went last night.  But she has a friend at the smaller campus, and I wanted her to be able to see her.  Later we will be going to youth group for my son after we take my husband to work.  Have a great day.

PE went well, even though there was rain.  It was still fun.  School went pretty well, also.  The only hard part was that my daughter washed something she treasures, and that was sad.  It is made of some paper.  Also, we found out that the state of Maryland has an old state song for 1861 written by a man who did not like the North or Lincoln.  That is the state song.  But, the government of Marylanbd this year is trying to change that song.  This YEAR!!  That is an awfully long time after the Civil War.  We were trying to find out on the web if the bill passed, but there was no information.  So, I emailed their governor.  Hopefully, he will let us know.  That is the state we are studying this month.  Look up Maryland, My Maryland.  It is rather puzzling and astonishing the lyrics.  I know why it was written.  What I don't understand is how it can be that state's state song.  Isn't a lot of government stuff going on there?  How could this have been overlooked for so long??  Weird.  Have a great day.

School went really well today.  We just have a few subjects left, but we will save those for grace day.  Husband gets paid, so shopping tonight and a little tomorrow.  Plus some bills.  Ugh!  Oh well, you buy it, you pay for it.   It's a little cold today.  Bible Quizzers for my son tonight.  Have a great day.

It is weird the things we allow to clog up and confuse our lives.  Today is a Sunday.  I got up in a really great mood.  My thoughts are to do a lot of reading and take it easy until I bring my husband to work so that I can bring my son to youth group.  But I have been working on this game on Facebook.  Sure enough they got me hooked.  To do well in this game, you would practically have to be on it 24 hours a day.  Nuts, huh?  Just like satan to offer junk- this silly game- as opposed to God's good- books and rest.  Well, I'm going to look through some blogs.  Then, I will shut down this computer (and that game) and go read.  Here is to not getting clogged up.  Have a great day.

EEEKKK!

Wow, what a long time it has been since I have blogged.  All exstended family is home or we are home, so everything shoudl be getting back to routine.  The weather is rainy.  I kind of like it.  But I better get out there on a first clear day and cut my plants and mulch.  My husband doesn't have class again until the 24th.  So, he will have a few free days to get stuff done or relax or whatever.  My children are really doing well with the routine.  The only thing that I'm having a hard time with is squeezing in the gym.  I will have to make that time because of my health.  I got done with the children's next week assignments, so I'm goofing off with the computer.  My husband is sleeping until 4 o'clock because he had to work graveyard last night.  My son is completing assignments he did not get done this week.  My daughter is playing with a sticker book she got from her birthday party.  Then, tonight we will be going to church because my husband has to pull graveyard again tonight.  Have a great day, everyone.

My husband's sister and daughter is coming to visit us for a week.  So, school is on hold.  We probably will not be finishing this year when we wanted in May.  But it's all good.  In one year, we were able to visit with both sides of our family.  You can't beat that.  We went to homeschool PE.  My son did an impromptu
class.  It will be more organized next Friday.  This weekend is Bible Quizzers.  We don't even have to travel far since it will be at the church that sponsers our team.  We will be leaving at 1:00 to help set up.  So, we won't be here to greet my sister in law.  Oh well.  I'm a little nervous about the visit going well.  I'm sure it will, by God's grace.  Our house sure looks nice, thanks to my wonderful family.  Have a great week.

My wonderful husband turned 40 today.  He got some things from the NFL store, three dress shirts, and a tie.  Plus my daughter made him a card and my son made him a computer video with him in it.  Right now, he is over at his friends watching football.  I hope he had a good day.

We went to my brothers.  Everything turned out well.  It seems he only needed my help from Sunday through Friday.  His wife went through her surgery.  The children (theirs) were just fine.  What sweeties.  My children were awesome helpers, helping me with their young cousins and the housework.  It wasn't easy for my talkitive son because we had to be more quiet than we are accustom to.  My home town has sure changed.  It was amazing.  I was lost.  Our drive down there, sadly, cost the life of a rabbit and a mouse who ran under my wheels.  I have only hit three animals in my 44 years, and two were in one night.  The cost of gas wasn't very high at all.  So, we may go down there more often.  Actually, I'm sure of it.  We did some park time and went out for pizza.  We worked on our school.  My son had two days when he was exhausted because we slept in the living room.  We were bummed that we didn't go to In and Out.  Maybe next time.  Most of the time was spent making sure my brother's children were fed, dressed, rested, and happy.    Our trip home was a bit more adventureous.  There were a lot of dear, one of which was 10 feet in front of my car going 65 rpm.  EEEKKKK!  However, we missed it.  We got home at 1:00 a.m.  I was a little loopy!  My husband took such great care of our house!  He is so awesome.  It felt great to be home with him again.  Yesterday my daughter turned 9 years old.  We got her some doll furniture.  We went to Olive Garden for brunch, and she got some new lotion from Bath and Body.  Then she and I played with her toys.  Later, her friend came over and played.  When her cousin is in town on October 9, we are giving her a pizza party.  Plus, I had signed her up for a lot of birthday clubs, so she will be blessed with things there.  We went to church and then to the Fair.  We had some scones, looked at a lot of stuff, lunch at Taco Bell, then came home for Sunday rest.  My son is playing his Game Cube, my husband is at work, my daughter is coloring.  Have a great week.

Dealing with sticky situations is not something I'm good at.  I wish I was.  Most of the time, I feel that I did something wrong when I feel that someone mistreated me.  Most of the time, it is just a misunderstanding.  I really would like to get over this self induced guilt because it stinks.  School has been going so well.  I love it.  And so do the children.  The days have been very sunny.  I like that.  Anyways, I really hope that you all have a great day.

Thank you for all the support I recieved with my brother.  He called me last night and offered to put my children and me in a hotel half way to his house.  I think he went home and talked with his wife who helped him see the light.  That is my guess because his attitude was different.  I'm pretty glad.  I'm not sure if my husband is still going to call him or not.  Church was interesting.  We are doing a series for the next 5 weeks on the gift God gives a husband and wife that can be abused by single people.  After the series is done, I think my husband is taking my son away for their weekend.  There isn't a class for my son's age group, so, he will be sitting in on the series.  I'm grateful that my son is at ease talking to us about stuff.  Otherwise, we may have to go to another church for 5 weeks.  My daughter is still adjusting there.  She likes more teaching of God's Word and less game time.  i love that.  Youth group tonight.  I was going to work in the yard today, but I think I will keep it as our day of rest, and do four areas of our house tomorrow- bathrooms, frontroom, garage and car, and yard.  Have a great day.

Once again, like every year, I have bitten off more than I can handle.  We are getting rid of some of the work I was assigning.  School is way too long in book learning, so I'm going to scale back.  i may just assign a time limit.  I'm not sure yet.  All I know is it is too long.  Have a great day.

Today I got up at a little after 6 am.  I want to work out before my family gets up.  However, I may6 have to get up about 5:45 so that my husband and son have time to workout before breakfast is served.  So, I only lifted weights today.  While my daughter slept and my men folk worked out, I spent time with the Lord.  I'm going through the Love Dare book, but I don't want my husband to know until the end.  Then, at 8, I woke my daughter up.  While she was getting dressed and taking care of her fish, i got breakfast ready.  The guys got home just in time, so we ate, read the Bible, and reviewed new discipline consequences for the new school year.  Then we all worked on mowing the lawn.  My husband mowed, my daughter moved the rocks around our flowers and picked up stray clumps, my son swept the driveway and street, and washed off the lawn mower, and I worked on the laundry, kitchen, and helped finish up the street.  Then everyone went to school.  Everyone is taking a break now.  i blog, the children watch Arther with their snacks, and my husband takes a nap.  After break, we need to take time to do the living room and bathroom chores.  My husband will go the the school district to fill out our Declaration of Intent to homeschool.  It's the law here.  Hopefully we will all be up for a BBQ because it sunny, and we have a watermelon.  Then we will do our family devotions, and then more school to finish up.  Anyways, have a great day.

2nd day of school

Some of it was fun, some of it wasn't.  High school takes a little longer for my son, but he will get it.  They are taking a break, and so am I.  The sun is shining.  What a great God I love and serve.  Praise Him for His grace and mercy.  My face book and email accounts are kind of dull.  But I really enjoy this blog.  Thank you everyone.  Have a great day.

Daughter had two friends over today.  They had a great time.  They played with the Little Pet Shop. They dressed up like super hero princesses, the only way to be.  They played with Play Doh, and watched my son make a volcano out of it.  It was fun watching neighborhood children and a couple of their moms watch my son's volcanoe take off.  Very colorful because he made the dome of different colors.  They had a tea party outside for their dolls.  They watched old Mickey Mouse cartoons.  They went to the park.  They had a BBQ.  They helped make a cake.  They fought a bit.  They played charades with a neighborhood friend.  They had a great day.  I did not enjoy solving the fights.  But I did like when they came up with stuff to do.  Now, they are all sleeping on the air mattress and the futon in the room we call God's room.
You know, I get really tired of bad news.  I want to be informed, but it gets tiring every once in a while.  God is so great.  It saddens me to think that while I only have to hear about bad things, He has to see it.  Right now, even, a siren is going off.  Our family says prayers for the sirens we see and hear.  But it still makes one sad.  Man, without prayer and knowing that God is in control, life could be seriuosly depressing.  Praise God for His future and His hope.
Three more days before school starts.  Tomorrow, if the Lord wills, we will finish our slumber party, do some house and yard work, take a bike ride, bubble baths, and movie night.  Sunday, we will go to church, my husband will work on his school test and go to his fantasy football party with my son, and scrapbook, blog, rest.  Monday, we will have our family day.  I'm praying we that the Lord would give us money to go to the Tillamook factory or Ocean Shores.  Otherwise, we will stay home and have family game day.  Then Tuesday, school will begin.  Anyways, that's my plan.  I wonder if it will line up with God's plan.  Have a great weekend.

Learning to Ride Her Bike

Today, my beautiful daughter, though afraid and not really wanting to, succeed in balancing and riding her bike.  Hubsand and I took her to a grassy hill.  The first thing she did was coast down with her feet off the peddles, then with her feet on the peddles.  Then she succeed in stopping herself with the brake and not falling off the bike.  We asked her to just peddle one time for us.  She was very afraid.  However, she peddle at least ten times.  She did that again.  The bike flip her off, landing her down on the ground.  Then the bike came down upon her and bounced off her helmet.  She was crying, a bit hurt, and scared.  BUT, THEN THIS BRAVE AMAZING BEAUTIFUL GIRL GOT BACK ON HER BIKE AND PEDDLED AGAIN!!!  What a girl!  We are so proud of her.  She was amazing!!  Have a great day.
