• Dec. 16, 2009 - A Homemade Christmas ~ Slippers, Gloves, & Scarves
Since I was away from internet access this time last year, I missed participating in Miss Emily Rose's Homemade Christmas. So, it was extra exciting for me this year, knowing that I would be able to take part!
Then...I tried to come up with something to post about for A Homemade Christmas, only to keep running into brick walls. I wanted to use red felt for something (I don't remember what now!), but what I had thought was felt, wasn't. Toss that idea!
I suppose that I could have thought and worked a little harder at it, but this post is to make up for that, since I'm going to include not one, not two, but three fabulous ideas to make your loved ones for the Holidays.
Tea Scarf
I had the several balls of the most beautiful colored acrylic yarns, just waiting to be worked up into a scarf, and I finally did so, after finding the recipe for The Tea Scarf. Now, I completely and totally agree that the original is far more romantic, luxiourious, and feminine than the one that I created, but mine does have a personality all of it's own.
This scarf is super quick and easy, will work up with a fairly small amount of yarn, and look wonderful.

Intercostal Mitts
The perfect gift for anyone, really, these warm, close-fitting gloves are sure to delight. At least one hopes they will. They will work up fairly quickly, depending on how fast of a knitter you are, and how hard you push yourself to finish them. There is still time to make a pair before Christmas.
The pattern is called Intercostal Mitts, but I regret to announce that you can only get this free pattern if you have a Ravelry account. Seriously, you poor knitting and crocheting people without an account are missing out.

Awe man!. just wrote a post two times and it erased both times. :( Sigh...I'll just write it over again. Ok...what I was saying was. In indoor this year they don't have a U13 competitive girls league so we are playing in a U14 rec boys league. So the people we play are HUGE. I am short (4' 9") and I'm not even the shortest person on the team! Lol! I'm tied with two other girls for second shortest. :) We lost 4 - 0 but we played good. :) My next game is Saturday! Dad has a soccer game tonight. Dad is working from home today because he has been sick but he does feel better today. I'm sooo excited about Christmas. It is in 9 days!! Yay! It is soo close! These days have been flying by! I can barely keep track of them! I thought yesterday was Monday but it was Tuesday! Today is Wednesday, right? Tomorrow at art class we are having a Christmas party! Well..sort of...we bring food and i don't know if we are going to draw. I think we are going to draw a little but but mostly talk. Lol! I like art class. We don't paint or anything, we just draw. So it is basicly drawing class. Lol! Lots of people that do art class are from our church. Also Thursday night my uncle is coming over to spend the night! I think another uncle is spending the night too but I'm not sure. THey are going to stay untill Friday afternoon. Saturday (as I have already said) I have a game but I am not sure if Graham and GreenPeppermint have games. I think they do. Sunday we will go to church and- Oh! Christmas break starts Saturday! Well...I think we might get off Friday since our uncles will be here but I'm not sure.
I am trying to learn french. This is what I have learned so far. Bonjour! Mon nom est Felicite'. (Good Morning (or hello) my name is Felicit.) Comment alez-vous? (how do you do?) Bien, Merci. (well, thank you) Au revior! (good bye!) I have also learned Bonne nuit. (Good night) Lol, it's fun. :)
After CHristmas we are going to go on a vacation! I think we are going to go to Tennessee to find snow. Lol, it barely ever snows here but last year we got enough here to sled a tiny bit in (it was kinda' wet though) and build a little snowman. One year we went to Tennessee to find snow and it ended up not snow in Tennessee and snowing where we lived! Lol! Funny, funny, funny. I'm excited though. Well, i got to go. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

I would've put this under my tag blog but it's kinda different. Not really a tag. but here goes;
Q: Why do females spend hours and hours on their hair and make-up?
A: We don't always spend hours and hours ...I mean we don't wanna look bad. We have to get everything right or we can't leave the house satisfied. "/
Q: Why do females go to the bathroom in groups?
A: haha I have noticed that.lol. I do that too actually. like we are always in a group, when we are walking around, why split up when you go into the bathroom? It's not like we go into the stall with each other. that would just be weird. Plus when one goes into the bathroom, the others go in there to check their hair and make-up.
Q: Why do females think the males should text/talk/IM/call them first? Why can't females do it first for a change?
A: Because we think the guys should do it first cuz...uhmm..idk rlly. If they do it first, then we know they probably wanna talk to us more. If we do it first and it takes them FOOOOREVER to reply, we think they don't wanna talk.
Q: Why do females feel they have to be in a group, just to fit in?
A: Not all of us do. We wanna feel like we are wanted or like people wanna talk to us. I only have like 5 best friends and I'm cool with that. We are always together but we don't make it a clique. We just hang out with out talking to everybody else. nothing wrong with that. right?
Q: Why do females think the WORST POSSIBLE THING when males don't talk to them for a day?
A: Cuz if the guy talks to the girl on a regular DAILY basis, what kind of idea do you expect us to get when they stop for a while?
Q: Why do females think males should be the ones to ask them out?
A: again, like I said before, if the guy does it FIRST, the girl KNOWS it's ok to go ahead with whatever the guy is doing. Like if he ask the girl out, she knows he obviously likes her so it's all great! But if the girl ask out the guy, we don't always know for sure, if they feel the same way. or if the guy is saying yes cuz he really does like her or just cuz he doesn't wanna hurt her feelings.
Q: Why is it ok for the females to 'cheat' on her boy friend but it's wrong for the boy friend to 'cheat' on the girl friend?
A: ahh I think it's wrong either way.
Q: Why do females get SOOOO jealous when their boy friend hugs/hangs out with another girl?
A: Cuz we sometimes wonder why they are so close. I wouldn't/haven't have a problem with my boy friend hugging another girl as long as I KNEW it was innocent. hanging out with another girl is okay but ONLY ...!!ONLY!! AS LONG AS there is another guy or at least a small group with them.
Did I make the "ONLY" part clear? (;
Q: Why should the males pay for the dinner/movie/date instead of the female?
A: uhmm cuz that's just how it goes. I'm not trying to sound selfish or anything ...I don't know about you but I'm not paying for it. that's the dude's job.
Q: Why is it ok for the female to get angry at the male for no reason, and yell at him for no reason but for the male, it's wrong?
A: cuz girl just have those attitudes. when a guy does it, it sometimes makes them look ..idk. and we don't want a guy who can't control their anger.

I don't know about your family, but my family has a great irresponsibility about cups. It is extremely annoying, and it seems, to our great misfortune, that it is incurable.
Some members of the family have Any-Old-Cup-Will-Do Syndrome, and if they happen to be thirsty, they look around for the closest designated drinking container.
I have diagnosed other people with A-New-Cup-For-Everything-Itis. People with this disease get new cups for any number of reasons, including but not limited to, getting a completely different beverage, and inablity to locate the old cup due to short-term memory loss or carelessness.
It is rare to have more than one or two clean cups sitting in the cupboard. More often than not you can find three or four scattered on the table, and another three or four hidden in little corners in an attempt to keep them separate.
So, is this the great unanswered question of our age? Why are the clean cups always gone? Is this a great mystery like that of the Disappearing Pencil, or Bigfoot, or the Bermuda Triangle? Will it ever be answered? Can this plight be remedied? Perhaps we shall never know.

Right now my dad is going to get us a new car. well an excursion. Our transmission blew out in our van on Saturday so my dad bought us an excursion. I'm glad we are getting rid of that mini van. lol. It kept breakin down on us now we get a new one.
I have basketball practice on Wednesday. I can't wait to see who's on my team. I know of 2 girls who are on my team, they are REALLY good. So I'm pretty sure we will win every game. (:
Also on Wednesday, the freshman girls from church are having the Christmas party. So idk which one I can make. They are both at night. I guess I'm gonna have to skip the party. Or maybe if the party is before the practice, then goes during practice, I could go to the party then go to practice when it starts. eh. I dunno. I have to buy a gift for someone anyways and take it to them Wednesday at the party so I can't really miss that. My other friend Jessica is on my team and she is going to the party. Or maybe not. I'll just ask her what she's doing about it.
Wow talking to myself makes everything easier. :D sometimes.
Well I'm not doing anything but looking at some friends pictures on facebook. fun fun. "/

• Dec. 13, 2009 - Nicolle's house and "Christmas Party"

Well earlier I was going to type up what I did at my friend, Nicolle's house, then I had to leave. I was going to type it now, cuz I'm finally home for the day, but I don't feel like it. Ok the main thing is, I went to her house, we had SO MUCH FUN, we stayed up late, watched TV like all day Saturday cuz we had nothing to do, we watch the Americas Next Top Model marathon. lol. We got to mad when the people stayed, that we wanted to go home, or the people left, that we wanted to stay. Anyways, then we hung out in her room, still watching TV, ate junk food, called random #'s and had like 20 minute conversations with them, stayed up late again, eventually fell asleep, woke up for church, took showers, got dressed, hair, make-up, yeah, got to church, had fun there, went out to eat after that, blasted the music in the car [always fun], got back home, hung out some more, they took me some where to meet my rents, my rents got me, we got chinese food, brought it home, I chilled out in my room for a lil bit, like 2 minutes, then my friend Jessica came to pick us up and took us to the youth "Christmas Party." It wasn't really a Christmas party. it was just ...normal there. but fun. cuz my friends!!
Anyways, when Jessica came, she took me, my older sis, and bro to the party since we are the only ones in the fam who are in the youth. anyways, she is really cool and has a red jeep and she replaced the car horn with another horn. it's so cool. lol. It sounds like a REALLY LOUD train horn, wtvr, thingy, and she scares people with it. Like when we were riding past the rail road tracks, she blew it and like 7 cars stopped for the longest time, wondering where the train was, then a train actually came.it was really loud and hilarious. Eventually we got to the church..
Yeah Hannah was there. We just walked around with Rebekah B and Ashley the whole time. from the gym, to the Apex, to the lobby, to the front desk place, to outside, through the hallways, to the game room, and just around the down stairs area. The guys were playing basketball the whole entire time. especially the high school guys. Yeah at first the high school guys and middle school guys were playing together, then these high schoolers Luke and Jake came in the gym and kicked the middle school guys off the "team" and made them go play basketball on the other side of the gym so the high schoolers could have their own "team" lol. The middle school girls were bugging me like friggin crap! They annoy the heck out of the high schoolers by yelling "HEY YOU!! SHE LIKES YOU!!" then I have to be like "OMG ... SHUT UP!! GEEZ!!" gahh they suck. No offense to middle schoolers but the ones at our church are like that. But they have all this "love" drama or in their case, "like" drama. it's so annoying!! I could go on and on and on and on and on about how annoying those middle schoolers are OR I could just finish my story. So yeah we just hung out. We have new "inside jokes" now. Man I love inside jokes!! lol. Me and Hannah were crackin up laughin for like 5 minutes straight about one of them. it was funny. It's one of those, "You had to be there" kind of things. (: So after a while all my friends left ): of course. well except Ian. he was still there. He came over and talked to me for like 3 maybe 5 minutes. it was nice to talk to him again. Even if it was just a couple minutes. it was great. (:
He said "I see you have a new cell phone." then I was like "yeahh I do." then he said "not full key board though. Only the cool people have full key boards." then I was like "Wtvr. It's still better then my old phone. and at least I have mine now, and texting. you don't have urs. hmm. sucks for you. Only the cool people HAVE cell phone!" then he was all "mm..well. that's uhmm.." then he started laughing for some reason. I guess I'm just naturally funny or something. or OMG, what if there was something on my face?! ahh I doubt that. I'm too full of myself right now to believe it. (: hah. not really but then he was finished his sentence, still laughing. "That's true. that's true." then raised his eye brows and just stared at me. then I said "mhmm...yup. it is."
Then he kept like staring into my eyes then I looked at him, raised my eye brow like he was weird. We always do that to each other though.
Yeah he still doesn't know when he is getting his cell phone back. he was like;
"Yeah my parents said we have to go on a 'trip' then I can get it back." then I was like.. "ahh..ook." then smiled. -smiles-
Then his sister came by and was all "Ian we have to go!!" so she started walking off and Ian still talked for a couple minutes more then he left. Then after like 10 minutes, all Jessica's good friends left so she asked us if we were ready and since all our friends were gone by this time, we said yeah. So we hopped in her jeep and took off. Leaving the parking lot, she blew her train horn lol, scaring her friend Lindsey and this old lady. it was funny. (: She had her country playing the whole time. Surprisingly I didn't get a head ache. yeh I hate country music. She has to be the biggest red neck [at least biggest teen girl red neck] at our church. nothing against red necks. just saying. So yeah coming into our neighborhood, we passed our enemy of neighbors house [lol. not really] and we told her to blow her horn so she did. Then we pulled up to our house, thanked her for taking us and dropping us off, then walked inside. Now I'm here..
I'm hungry tho. Although I had pizza at the party, I'm still hungry now. I'm gonna go eat some chinese. =D This is a really short story of my day tho. If I were to type out all the details, we would be here like ALLLLLLLLL DAY!! That's how long my post would usually be. (:
