Welcome! This is the blog of a 16-year old girl, where I am going to talk about God, friends, events, and randomness about me. Comments are greatly appreciated:) Enjoy! ~Amanda
This was taken from www.therebelution.com . I encourage all of you to try and make it to one of these Conferences, or at least take a look at their website (above).
The Rebelution's Do Hard Things Tour is coming to seven major cities across the United States in 2008. Each conference is a challenging one-day event for teens by teens who believe that our generation is ready for a change. Ready for something that doesn't promise a whole new life if you'll just buy the right pair of jeans or use the right brand of deodorant.
We believe that our generation is ready to rethink what teens are capable of doing and becoming. And we've noticed that once wrong ideas are debunked and cleared away, our generation is quick to choose a better way, even if it's also more difficult.
The Do Hard Things Tour invites you to explore some radical questions:
Is it possible that even though teens today have more freedom than any other generation in history, we're actually missing out on some of the best years of our lives?
Is it possible that what our culture says about the purpose and potential of the teen years is a lie, and that we are its victims?
Is it possible that our teen years give us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for huge accomplishments -- as individuals and as a generation?
And finally, what would our lives look like if we set out on a different path entirely -- a path that required more effort but promised a lot more reward?
We describe that alternative path with three simple words: Do Hard Things.
I will be at the Dallas, TX conference. I went last year, and really enjoyed it. Alex and Brett have an amazing message, and I'm sure that you will be blessed by it.
Please check out the 2008 promo video on my sidebar for more info on the Conference.
I know I haven't been on here for a while- I've been kind of out of the loop with school and everything. Leave me some comments!

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"
The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin." God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."
Hey! I just want to encourage you guys to try to make one of these conferences if at all possible! Here is a link to the rebelution site, and a testimony from an attendee in sacramento. I tried to post a flier that I downloaded, but it didn't work, so please go to the website and check it out! This is going to be phenomenal!
Wow. It's been a really long time since I've been on here. I think I had like 8 PM's in my inbox!!!! I'm not going to try to reply to them all, sooo.... if you sent me one in the last two months, I'm not ignoring you! I had hoped to be more faithful to this blog than to my past ones, but.......:) ha! that didn't happen, did it? So here I am again- cool, that sounds like a song! Anyways, I'm back on- I'm not sure how well I'm going to keep it up, but hopefully after August I'll have more time =) JK, I'll try to get on every once in a while, but seriously, I am absolutely BOOKED until mid August! I am working at CT three weeks in a row, (this week included) then I'm working at my friend's camp the week after that at her house, then I get one week off before working another two weeks at CT, then I leave that Saturday on a mission trip to Mexico, and that puts me in the middle of August. And don't you know it that one week I have off in the middle of everything will be packed once I get to it, not to mention my sweet sixteen coming up two weeks from today. Who knows when I'll be able to have a party! So that's part of why my life has been too busy to blog. I'm so behind in school, and my summer is so busy, that I won't be done with this year's school until October! AAAUUUUGH!!! Somebody help me!!!!
O well, just hang in there with me, and don't stop leaving comments and PM's just because I haven't been on here for a month or so.
To Kill an American
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Mu! slim. I n fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan . Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built A merica .
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told tha t the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Ever yo ne who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
Please keep this going! !
Pass this around the World ?
Then pass it around again.
It says it all, for all of us
Please do not just delete.
Pass it on first.
Thanks!

I found this on Chris's blog, and I thought it was pretty cool, so I copied it. :) There are some questions that I've answered before on other tags, so it's not all new info. The name one at the end is pretty cool, though! Mine didn't come out as cool, but it was still fun.
Enjoy!

Hi everybody! I'm back from Colorado. It was a blast!!!! Just to give you a warning, I'll probably be posting stories about my trip for months!!! I only have 39 comments, so no one won my contest. :( O well, I guess I'll still celebrate my 50th comment:) Thanks to everyone who did leave me a comment. We got in at around 1:00 last night. I'm really tired:) Get ready for some amazing stories and pics later on!!!
Ok, here's the deal- I have 24 comments right now, and my goal is to have 50 by the time I get back from Colorado. 5 comment limit per person, and please let it be longer than 'just stopping by to say hi' ;). When I get back, I will visit everyone's blog and leave them a comment telling them who was the 50th comment writer. That lucky person gets a very long comment and a special post just for them! I'm really desperate lol :)
Hey everybody!! Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm leaving really early on Saturday morning to go on a ski trip. I can't wait!!! We're going with some people from our church, and there's like 11 families going!!! It will be so fun! This is like the 4th time that I've been on a ski trip. My family usually only takes one vacation a year, and sometimes only every other year, but this year we're travelling a lot! Colorado next week, California in May, I might possibly go on a Mexico mission trip this summer, and there is a week-long camping trip that I really want to go on in October. Oh, we do go camping quite a bit, but it's usually only three days, so I don't really count that as a vacation, but it's still nice to get away for a few days. I love my new church!!!!!!!!! Sorry, that was really random, but I feel like I'm getting to the point now where I can walk up to a group of people and join in their conversation without everyone looking at me crosseyed and asking me, "now what was your name again?" :) anyone else ever have that feeling? Anyways, we've been going there for about 6 or 7 months now, and I really love it!! the people there are amazing!!!! especially the teenagers. I have really been challenged to grow in my walk with the Lord and to spend more time in the Bible. Everyone is so encouraging. Ihave never felt so accepted in my life! I'm a really outgoing person, and I make friends pretty easily, but it's still hard for me to come to a completely different place in my life and start almost from scratch! Thank God for Laurel!! she was the only person I knew when we first moved to our new church, and she introduced me around. It probably would have taken me a lot longer to make new friends if I had had to do it all on my own. I just realized that this was supposed to be a post about our upcoming vacations!! That's how totally random I am!!! :) Well, if I don't get a chance to post again before I leave, goodbye for now! Leave me LOTS of comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
