Nov. 20, 2008 - Parrish's

We go to their farm every Thursday. Sometimes I don't go because there's nothing to do there now. That's where we got our calf Blossom. We went every Thursday to bottle feed her milk. When we're done our mom chitchats while we go around looking at the animals.  . Thanksgiving is coming. I can't wait !Our old friends next door to our old house are coming!!!. The farm we go to is called Green Acres. They have so many cats, even kittens!. They have chicks and chickens.(We like to try to catch the chickens). Ducks muscovys.(we try to catch them too). Pigs, Aaron and I don't like pigs because if you have watched Old Yeller. You saw how he and the dog got attacked by the hogs. Cows and so on and so on.

Nov. 7, 2008 - Buddy and Kingy

I finally figured out why Buddy the rooster is the 3rd biggest. I gotta stop chasing him around. (I like to catch my roosters so I can pet them.) He's got a very skinny brest. I think he's growing again. He got his bright red comb and woddler back. My friend told me that he's skinny. But when you look at him he looks very fat. If he's gonna be a show rooster he has to get fat and tamed. I'm starting to tame him by hand feeding him. We ran out of chicken feed so I'm trying to him him cat food. (The chickens like to eat cat food I don't know why but they are). But the cat foods to big for short and skinny Buddy. His beak has'ent been growing so it's kinda hard to feed him hard big peaces of cat food. Again I'm chasing him thats why his beak Is'nt growing.. I hope he gets to be a good show rooster.

KINGY!!!

Kingy is a very mean chicken. But he'll make a very good dinner. I think I'm gonna sell him for the prettyness aout him and meat. What I mean about pretty is he's not a jersey giant chicken. He's not 1% jersey giant. I at least think he's not 1% jersey giant. He's got gold feathers on his neck and wings. He's very fat and very heavy compared to my other chickens. I mean he's not mean. Like in so mad he'll kill chickens. I think he's calming down abit. (He still picks on other roosters thats what male chickens do).. Anyone interested in buying him.chickens08088.jpg

Oct. 27, 2008 - The two pairs of ducks

chickens08067.jpg image by anneboat-2008Those two white ones are the funny ones. The female white one I call Stubbie. Cause shes so small compared to the others. The grey ones are funny too. I think both pairs of ducks going to lay eggs soon. Cause its kinda odd how the white male will stand on top of Stubbie wal grabbing onto her head. The gray male did the same thing but did it in water. Im like yikes don't drowen her.  Where not going to let them have ducklins because in the winter they don't do well.

chickens08074.jpg image by anneboat-2008Hes the cutest

chicken. Hes gonna be my show rooster. I don't know why but every buddy picks on him (other roosters). He used to be the biggest but now hes the 3rd biggest. When you chase him around hes like bu-balk. You know the sound hens make when you chase them. He stoped crowing I don't know ask him. Lol I'm kidding. Hes very pretty.

ps thats not a very good picture.

animal08016-1.jpg image by anneboat-2008animal08012-1.jpg image by anneboat-2008animal08009.jpg image by anneboat-2008

She's a cute little one. She also loves kitten treats. She loves milk very badly. Just to let you know she i'sent my kitten. As you can see on the first picture on the left she has milk on her bottom lip. Aaron likes to call her Dasilbum. But her real name is Daisy. I don't know how but when he calls she comes. I'm working on my kitten so she can come but she can barley know her name. Im not going to talk about her because this entry is'nt talking about her.

(not true)
Since we were the first one to mars we saw this!. Creepy is what I say. It took three years to get there and there it was an alien kitten. So there's life on mars after all. Oh and an alien chicken.

But this photo is from photobucket.   . She's Calico. She's very pretty and very playful. She has a sister named Daisy. Daisy is my bro's kitten. He likes to call Daisy Dasilbum. My kitten's name is Lily. I like to call her Willams. My kitten's a funny one. She does'nt like the office. (in a barn). She does'nt like any of the animals on the farm. Only her sister. She loves kitten treats. She got fixed yesterday and were going to pick her up today.

Oct. 13, 2008 - our muscovy ducks

My favorite one is the female. They are the prettyest ducks I ever seen. The female is the black and white one. She has those ducklins on the ducklin entry. The white one is the male. He can fly up to 5 ft. and then down again. But he only does that when you get to close. He's not as old as Summersalt (female). His name is Cartwheel. I hope Summersalt lays lots of eggs. She might lay any day now. Mabey one week or so. My Mom thinks she has killer nails. But she should see the nails on my chickens.  . I think Cartwheel is in love with summersalt.. Cause they stick together all the time. Summersalt is gonna lay 25 eggs ( I hope) so we can lots of ducklins.

Oct. 4, 2008 - Moo!+baa!=?

chickens08019.jpg Stella image by anneboat-2008chickens08021.jpg Blossom image by anneboat-2008

Well everything doesent have to be about birds. Because we got two calves. Ones names Blossum and one Stella. Blossum is a Jersey and Stella is a Charlah. Jerseys are the best for milk and Stella is best for meat. Mmm steak.. We got them at two different places. I hope there doing well. Blossum won't be bred for a year. Stella hmm mabey we will breed her. We don't know..

BYE BYE PEPPER!

Today we got rid of Pepper. But he might be coming back. (Pepper is our baby goat). If he comes back we'll have to put up posters. I hope he dosent sell. He's a mutt. Thats why I don't thing he's going to sell. . Nobody wants to see him go. He's the most playful goat. When we go to see him he's happy. Then when we leave he gets sad. Then he squeezes under the fence. Thats part why we want to sell him.

Oct. 3, 2008 - swan's

Swan's are pretty birds. But they're mean. Do not let any animal near this bird. My favorite is the black ones. But I watch as somone arproch this black swan it hissed. This was at a farmers market. They require a pond if your gonnna get one. Its somtimes best to get them as swanlings. So they get used to you. They may need to get cliped because some of them can fly. They can bite so becarful around them. These are very big birds. I asume they eat alot to. I don't know about there nails. It may be ok for geese to be with them. I don't know how many eggs they lay. But if somone know's please tell me..

Oct. 3, 2008 - guess what? turkeys

I can't tell you much about turkeys but I'll tell you all I know. Turkeys are very big birds. They weigh 10- 25 pounds. Warning! do not let a turkey by a chicken, turkeys carry sickness to chickens. Once a chicken gets that sickness it drops dead.. Sorry that's all I know about turkeys.

Oct. 3, 2008 - ducklins

chickens08052.jpg image by anneboat-2008

Well there's seven of them. They're muscovy ducklins. Some are black some are white some are black and white. They're just cute little fluff balls. We let them out once in a while. Once because when they set an eye on the adults they run to them. But the adults don't let them. So the adults peck them. But I'm not going to talk about the adults because they come later in this blog. We got a limp ducklin. But he's doing great. He can run really fast.

8dc7c52b.jpg image by anneboat-2008
When I was walking to let the chickens out I looked at the hicsgas tank. It was a dove! and it let me hold it. It was so soft. But in 10-5 min. It flew off. It was so cool! I never held a dove before.

Oct. 3, 2008 - About these birds

The muscovy ducks lay twenty to twentyeight eggs. They have wicked nails and some can fly. One of my friends got his truck scrached from these nails. If you're going to get these ducks look up info on the internet.

The jersey giant chicken is the worlds largest breed. But they are very friendly. They lay one egg every two days. They're a duel chicken. They weigh so much they cant fly. Well my chickens can fly. But they're not full grown.

IMPORTENT INFO!!!

Warning the muscovys nails are so sharp it can tear flesh. But these are wonderful ducks they are pro bug eaters. Thats why they fly. So they can catch moths and stuff.

Notice these chickens are so big they need a big space and think about the winter they have to stay in the coop for winter. But if the snow not so deep go ahead let them out.

chickens08046.jpg image by anneboat-2008chickens08049.jpg image by anneboat-2008chickens08050.jpg image by anneboat-2008
I also got some ducks and ducklings. I have have any pictures of the ducklings. The ducks are also fun. But when you get too close to them QUACK!. They won't stop until you leave. But they're cool. We have two muscovys and four others. We don't know what the four others are. The ducklings are so little and cute. I don't like to call then ducklings I call them ducklins. They love to eat watermelon and tomatoes. Ok back to the adult ducks. The muscovys are so cool. The male muscovy can fly. The female can just barely. Now the moment you've been waiting for THE KING DUCK!!!. nope just kidding.

Oct. 3, 2008 - My Jersey giant chickens

I have five roosters and twenty hens. They are very fun.

They're three months old. In three more months they will start laying.

hey are free range. They're just starting to crow. They'll be 10-14 pounds when they're adults.

I have one show rooster that's named Buddy. He's growing fast. There used to be a rooster that was bigger than him named Kingy. But Kingy is the best crower.  Buddy's on the bottom and Eggers is on the top.
