Last night in church several of the kids' friends sat with us. Their parents always like this, because we sit on the second row, right in the middle. The only reason we don't sit on the front row is that the ushers sit there before they take the offering. We've always sat on the front row - it makes the kids behave when they know all 600 members are watching them. Anyway, one boy started coughing. And coughing. And sniffing and coughing. I sat there thinking, "Great. My kids are going to be sick AGAIN." So I dug around in my purse for a cough drop and passed it down to him. He looked at me thankfully, unwrapped it and popped it in his mouth. I watched. In seconds he got a look of confusion which quickly changed to horror, and began looking around for something to spit it out into, to no avail. And I wasn't going to offer him a tissue. See, it was a strawberry Hall's, which tastes like solidified brake fluid. But he did stop coughing.
Be thankful ~
