For "school" today my girls and I (ages 9 and almost 8) made this delectable concoction. Meet Vanilla Glazed Raisin Bread.

This was seriously yummi-licious. The girls did most of the work (which is probably why it turned out so well!) The dough actually rose, it actually rolled out without sticking to everything in my kitchen, it actually rose a second time and then baked. The glaze actually smoothed on as planned and it tasted like....raisin bread!
We'll call that "Home Ec", and "Math" with all that measuring, and "Reading" because recipes are a genre aren't they?, and "Science" because how cool that yeast can do that (not that we discussed that or anything).....
All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon full of wonderful aromas and memories. Good job girls! Let's see how much cooking and baking you can do for your poor momma when the baby comes and I'm laying on the couch all day!
By the way, I'd post the recipe here except then you would make your own instead of buying them from us for $3.00 a loaf! :-)
