• May. 13, 2009 - So Not Happening [by Jenny B. Jones]

Bella is a bit of a spoiled brat.

She freaks out and is completely miserable because she has to leave her Dad's awesome condo in NYC, all her upper-class friends, and her adoring boyfriend, to move to "hickville" in Oklahoma with her mother, her mother's new husband, and his two sons - one sweet, while the other seems determined to make Bella's life even more miserable. She begs her mother to come to her senses, but her Mom is rock-solid that it's "God's will." How can Bella argue with that?

Jumping right into school, Bella makes a few friends and they go shopping; but the night ends in total humiliation for Bella. Out of her frustration and anger, she vents on her blog about how much she hates the town and how stupid the people are. Problem is, the next day everyone at her new school finds out about it, and they aren't about to forgive and forget.

As a result, Bella begins to work on the school's newspaper; the arrogant-but-totally-hott editor, Luke, is maddening, assigning her the WORST possible story, EVER.

As if life couldn't get worse, there's something fishy about her new step-dad, and Bella's determined he's up to no good. Desperate to go home to NY, she even goes so far as to follow him- and the end result is something she could never have imagined.

On top of all this, she juggles her best friend in NY's distance, her boyfriend brushing her aside, and losing her most precious and prized position - thanks to her stepbrother. Still, Bella manages to find a few friends and hopes that eventually everyone will forget the horrid blog post.

Next thing you know, a big story comes up that she's determined to follow for the paper. Luke agrees on one condition; he helps. Before long, they both find out they're in WAY over their heads-- only it's too late to go back. Determined to get the truth and take it the police before more people get hurt, Bella and Luke move full speed ahead without looking back.

That's all I say... but you SO need to read this! It's awesome.

The Writer

Along the same lines as joyfulnoize, this blog is for the purpose of giving my thoughts and reviews on the many, many, many books that I read. :) Ok, so maybe I'm just indulging in my bibliomania, but that's ok, right?!? lol.
