Suave Cookin'

Posted in Family Life

You'd think after reading Courtney's blog earlier this week, I would have thought to look in the oven.  But then again, why?  I'm not moving.  I don't normally store anything but my baking stone in the oven.

It didn't even occur to me that anything was amiss until my dinner started to smell, well, like candles, as my younger daughters informed me.  I thought there was something wrong with the macaroni noodles.  But why would noodles smell like lavender lilac?   I had preheated the oven for corn muffins, a last minute decision I came to regret.  Imagine my surprise when, upon opening the oven door, I found this:

It was my oldest daughter's Suave Lavender Lilac Shampoo, baked at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

I haven't gotten a real confession yet about how it happened.  My four-year-old insists that her 22-month-old brother is the culprit, but I have my doubts.

I'm off to clean out my oven now.....I think it's finally cool enough.

And in case you're wondering, no, we didn't have corn muffins with dinner this evening.
