Tuesday, July 10, 2007 - So Inconsistent
I am the most inconsistent homeschooler. We almost never do school five days in a row. I really hope that changes when the kids are older. Even though Mari in pretty much in kindergarten I keep telling myself she's only four so it's not that serious. I know it is serious and I'm going to really try to be more consistent. I want to teach them good study habits so the best time to start is right now.

I figure with my little man that it is most important to do a little everyday and that certain activities stand in for other lessons. We have lots of puzzles and I have convinced myself that doing a puzzle is equivalent to pattern and shape recognition work.
Also, cooking counts for math and reading if I have him help me read the recipe. Like you said when they are little it isn't quite as important. At this age they learn so much while they are playing and exploring their worlds.
Don't be so hard on yourself.
