• Sep. 18, 2008 - Jeremiah 17:5-8

Ok I have had this verse on my mind for like a week now so I figured I would post on it so here we go. This is Jeremiah 17: 5-8 the way got to it was an accident I was looking up another verse when I got to it, but I hope you guys get something out of this.
Trust-a: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or somethingb: one in which confidence is placed
Jeremiah 17:5-10
5. This is what the LORD says:
       "Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
       who depends on flesh for his strength
       and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
 6. He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
       he will not see prosperity when it comes.
       He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
       in a salt land where no one lives.
 7. "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
       whose confidence is in him.
 8. He will be like a tree planted by the water
       that sends out its roots by the stream.
       It does not fear when heat comes;
       its leaves are always green.
       It has no worries in a year of drought
       and never fails to bear fruit."
Well you are probably thinking man that is harsh but hey God is a jealous God, he wants our attention and wants us to lean on him as he clearly says in the next couple of scriptures. See when you place your trust in man your aren’t really thinking straight cause man can waver and fall, God is unmovable and will never fall he is constant. So if you place your Trust in man and depend on flesh for strength it says:
6. He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
       he will not see prosperity when it comes.
       He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
       in a salt land where no one lives.
Now if you know what a bush in the wastelands looks like you would know they are just branches not bearing any leaves or anything fruitful. You are pretty much dead you’re worthless you can’t bear shade and you’re not bearing fruit your just there. The rest of the verse is very self explanatory.
Now we move on to verses 7-8 were he says:
 7. "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
       whose confidence is in him.
 8. He will be like a tree planted by the water
       that sends out its roots by the stream.
       It does not fear when heat comes;
       its leaves are always green.
       It has no worries in a year of drought
       and never fails to bear fruit."
When you’re confidence and trust is in the Lord he will bless you, (Normally when you trust some one you are close to them). When we do that is says:
 8. He will be like a tree planted by the water
       that sends out its roots by the stream.
       It does not fear when heat comes;
       its leaves are always green.
       It has no worries in a year of drought
       and never fails to bear fruit."
So let’s take this to a meaning. This is the way I see it, imagine God is the water and you’re the tree. Well when the heat or drought comes (financial ect.) you don’t worry cause your roots (trust) are/is planted deep within the water witch is God as I said a second ago. You’re leaves are always green and you are always bearing fruit, so it sounds to me like you are pretty valuable then, you’re bearing shade and your bearing fruit. As I have said before God wants us to bear fruit and he wants us to do good but, he also gave us a choice and if you pick the wrong one well I pretty much just told you what’s going to happen. I am not trying to sound like I know every thing but this is just what I got out of it so yeah.
I know what your thinking lol your probably thinking finally lol I had to read all that but hey I just figured someone might like to read it. Well that’s what I got you might have got something totally different if you that’s awesome pm me your thought on this so yeah. If you didn’t understand a word I just said lol you pm me and I well try my best to make it more understandable. TTYL :0

• May. 6, 2008 - James 3:1-12

James 3
Controlling the Tongue
 1 Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
 3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. 4 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. 5 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.  But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6 And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.
 7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! 11 Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? 12 Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.
----
Well in verse 1-2 is said, “Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly”. I don’t think it means that you should not be a leader in your church or preacher, (teacher) but any ways what I believe he is saying is that when you are a teacher you have to very careful what you say because people look up to you and think you know alot and believe what ever comes out of your mouth. This is what is says if you mislead a baby Christian.
----
Matthew 18:6, “But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea..”
----
 (Little ones can also be baby Christians)
That is why leaders have to be very careful what they say because they are accountable for any Christian they mislead which is clearly harsh. I hope I am right with the things I say lol but before you guys believe any of this please analyze this and get your own opinion on it.
Now that I got that out of the way I want to share the part I have been waiting to get to. Your tongue is a powerful thing as it was said in verses 3-8. I do not believe this means just when you are teaching but also in every day life, our tongue can build up or tear down as it was said in Proverbs 11:9. Keep in mind that just because is says in that verse the godless, that doesn’t mean the believers can’t tear people down with there words as well. One more important thing is even though in verse 8 it says, “No man can tame the tongue.” That does not mean that we can walk around thinking oh well if no man can tame their tongue then why try. We are letting our self down by believing that stupid excuse, we might not be perfect but we can try and gain more control so that we don’t do as much damage. It is better to shorten the fires than to start more. So what I am trying to get across the table is that just yesterday I said we need to be examples, so if we are to be examples I think it would help if we had control of our tongue…Well that’s all hope you got something out of it so ttyl.

• May. 5, 2008 - Proverbs

Humility -The quality or condition of being humble.
Detest - to feel abhorrence of; hate; dislike intensely.

Last night I was reading in Proverbs and theses are some things that stuck out to me.

1.      Proverbs 11:1, The Lord abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.
2.      Proverbs 11:2, When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
3.      Proverbs 11:6, The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.
4.      Proverbs 11:9, With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge (wisdom) the righteous escape.
5.      Proverbs 11:12, A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue.
6.      Finally, this one is my favorite, Proverbs 11:30, The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Ok the thing I got from the last one is, by our fruit we become a tree of life, I will put it like this. Say you’re a fruit tree and your bearing fruit, well any unbeliever can see your fruit weather it is bad fruit or good fruit…It is like normal fruit, when you go to the store are you going to want to buy rotten fruit…lol didn’t think so, as I was saying if you wouldn’t want to buy a rotten fruit why would any unbeliever want to taste that so called Christianity stuff…Sorry if I am not making any sense I am in my own little world right now LoL I will try and break it down and make as much sense as I can. What I am trying to say is by the fruit we are bearing off our tree people can tell if we are what we say we are and if we are just like the world and not bearing any fruit why would a unchristian person want to be one…In Titus 2:7 is says: And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.
So if we are to be an example then we need to be bearing good fruit cause weather you know it or not there is always some one watching your every move and analyzing every thing you do. Here is another example, Acts 13:47 says: For the Lord gave us this command when he said,
   “I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
      to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.”
This was when Paul was speaking to the Jews and the Gentiles (Gentiles also means unbelievers, The Gentiles were any race that was not a Jew, in spiritual terms Jews are Christian and Gentiles are unbelievers).So think of us being a light this way, Imagine you’re a light like a literal light but there is one important thing you should now about a light and it is that it’s impossible not to notice it in the dark. So you’re this light and your walking down the road and every one is noticing you as being different. Now every time you aren’t shining (bearing your good fruit) you get dimmer then you repent and start doing what you were supposed to do from the beginning again you get bright well after awhile of you not shining (bearing you fruit) you burn out. So what use are you to the unbelievers now that no one notices you and you look just like the rest of the world. So you pray and ask for forgiveness and God being merciful as he is goes to his storage closet grabs a new bulb and plugs you back in, your bright again. What I am trying to say is when you’re not shining or bearing good fruit the unbelievers will notice and if we look just like the rest of the world they will say hey that Christian is just like me why should I change, but when we are bearing good tasty fruit they will be like wow I want to taste that or I want to shine like that , now I am not trying to say I have got it together lol I don’t and I think that is why it stuck out to me like it did and I am not saying this is accurate I may be way off but that’s what I felt so yeah that’s it.... Well guys sorry that was so long and if it didn’t make any sense to you lol it did to me but I just thought is was cool and who knows some one might read it and it be just what they needed to here so ttyl.

• Feb. 14, 2008 - Matthew 13:1-9, Parable of the Farmer Scattering Seed

Matthew 13:1-9
Parable of the Farmer Scattering Seed

1 Later that same day Jesus left the house and sat beside the lake. 2 A large crowd soon gathered around him, so he got into a boat. Then he sat there and taught as the people stood on the shore. 3 He told many stories in the form of parables, such as this one:
   “Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds. 4 As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate them. 5 Other seeds fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seeds sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow. 6 But the plants soon wilted under the hot sun, and since they didn’t have deep roots, they died. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants. 8 Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted! 9 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

Scripture taken from (http://www.biblegateway.com) I didn't feel like typing that out lol...

Ok now it’s my turn lol.

Well don't get me wrong you have probably heard this before and I am not like trying to sound like I know exactly what I a talking about but I will say what I THINK (BELIEVE).

The Farmer of course is the Leader,Teacher,Preacher,ect...He plants seed (believers) but some of us Christians fall on the path. These are the ones who go to church sing the songs, what ever gets them through the service and there roots (relationship) don't go any were and eventually satan swoops down and takes them away (leads them away from God). The ones who fell on the rocky places were there wasn't much soil died because there roots didn't go deep.  Those are the Christians who have this relationship with God but it’s not deep and slowly they die. Then you have your ones that fell among the thorns. Those are the Christians who get caught up in the thorns ( wordly things such as drugs, friends, being popular or any thing that is not of God) and eventually the enemy chokes them out and they die. Finally you have the ones that fell on the fertile soil. Those are the Christians whose roots went deep and have this awesome relationship with God going on. So at some point and time God uses those seeds (believers) because they are faithful, to produce more (expand his kingdom)... What I am saying is that we need to have a desire to be the ones whose roots went deep with God and expand his kingdom not for our glory but for His. I don't want to hear this "Well what if your one of the ones who gets thrown among the thorns", and frankly I don't think God does either. There is no you were thrown over there or here. It is a choice God gave you to decide how deep you want to go those are just examples about people that don't go any were, people that go a little way and so on and so forth. So this is basically a encouragement or a reminder that we need to be deep and tight with God or eventually the enemy will choke us out or lead us away and we die.

So I hope you guys got something out of that if you didn't there's nothing I can do lol so ttyl.
