Justified or Sanctified?
Lets get real. People
who seek the Lord, have no need for the approval of other men. People
who seek to fill their lives with anything less than Gods best, need
the approval of others and will not abide a dissenting voice.
Frequently I see angry people waving signs and
shouting protest, angry at me for how I am living my life. Why? Do they
really value my opinion? Do they want me to do something for them? Do
they need me to send them money? Why are they so angry at me? Why
do they care how I live? I don't remember asking their opinion on
how I should be living my life. Why do they feel so free with their
unsolicited asnine advice?
Some seek Jesus. Some seek justification. Many never
seek the mainstream. Some are happy with their own version of reality
and are only agitated when confronted with nuggets of truth that do not
fit their belief structure. Others congrigate with peer groups in bars,
bath houses, crack dens, Wall Street, Washington D.C., and prisons.
There is however another group.
Activists seek not only the consensus of their
peers. They desire to stifle all criticism of their activities or
political position. Justification is their highest aim. In the
end it doesn't matter what kind of a sinner wants to stay justified in
his sin.
As a Christian I realize that I am commisioned by
God to offer truth to all that I meet. But it is hard to speak truth
when I know that I am likely to start a fight, with someone I do not
like, over something I don't particularly care about, when I know that
in the end the people that I had hoped to help stomp off, leaving
me with nothing but a headache and a label.
Labels are a way for truly bigoted or closed minded
ideologs to reject the message. You know if you don't like the message
shoot, or crucify the messenger.
It does not matter what truth I am to speak or who I
am to speak it to. The absolute truth is God left it up to me. Will I
stand for what is right?
So do I stay safe and keep my mouth shut? Or do I do
what God tells me? Evil prospers when good men do nothing. Just call me
the chovanistic, homophobic, gun toting, extremist, christian, loud
mouthed, member of the vast right wing conspiracy
Good night and God bless
