Sister Act (Not the one with Whoppie Goldberg)
My daughters, Grace and Ashley were cheering at a game a few days ago.  As they ran out on to the court at half time, Ashley was slightly out of position and Grace shoved her into place- in front of the whole crowd.  Every mom of the cheer squad held her breath.  They knew what would happen...we were all sisters.....someone would surely die for that.
Sisters can be one of the scariest forces on earth.  We've had many fighting sisters though the years.  The kind that just pick and pick till I start crying and say things like, "If you two don't start being nice to each other your kids will never know their aunts when you grow up."  We've had sisters actually on the floor punching it out. (I'm sure it wasn't your fault Lane) and sisters that got out of cars and swear they're going to walk 20 miles home rather then ride one more moment with the other.
But not Grace and Ashley.  They like each other.  Ashley said Grace was just helping her get in the right place on the court.  Grace perfers Ashley's company and the feeling is mutual.  They apologize to each other and don't say it like "sorrE" .  Don't know how long this sweet sister thing is going to last, but I'm enjoying it now.

They're a cute pair. you must be doing something right. And I had to laugh at the description of some of the fights between sisters in your home. Made me nostalgic for my big sis! :)

Jan. 9, 2007 - I"m leaving this anonymous on purpose

You know that you had one daughter who was never the instigator, just the hapless victim of terrorizing sister abuse. Shoes straight at the temple, pushing bunk beds until they fall, demanding the shirt of her back on the bus because of some lame claim to ownership. It's sad, really, but you couldn't have known because the antagonist was so clever at blame-shifting. Well, I'm off to therapy. Love you, Mom!

Jan. 9, 2007 - How awesome is that?

I remember how Grace always wanted a "best friend" and she got even better than that - a live-in best friend/ sister! How awesome is the Lord? You can tell they really like each other!

Jan. 10, 2007 - It IS so frustrating!

Posted by jewls2texas

I have started a new blog at Homesteadblogger - mine is www. homesteadblogger.com/jewlsntexas -
I will see if things get better here - if not I'll be blogging there. Their friend feature still works! I was pretty excited about that!
I just hate it that all these problems came about - they were fixing something that wasn't broken!

Jan. 10, 2007 - An Act of Love

Posted by ktneis

Many people see the negative but you have girls with love in their hearts and understanding for each other. That is a very nice testimonial to sisterhood. I never had one and my dd is only girl, and we have our special bond because of that. My boys do argue quite a bit though, no fist fighting allowed in my home.
