I have decided to switch to a blogger account, it was just taking too much time to figure out this blog. I really like the idea of being under homeschool blogger, I just can't find the time to figure it all out and I already know Blogger. So, in case anyone drops by, here is my new blog... www.1plus1plus1equals1.blogspot.com Mainly featuring photos of lapbooks we are doing! |
This is my 5 year old son's 1st drawing from the Draw, Write, Now book #1. It was perfect timing, as we just began our Henny Penny unit and used the book to learn to draw a hen! I am very impressed with these books and so glad I ordered them.![]() |

These are our first lapbooks and I am in love. I wasn't quite sure we would continue on with them but I became certain when I noticed him looking back through the completed ones and re-reading the mini books and relearning the info in them. They are such great tools and keepsakes. Today we began our Henny Penny/short vowel sounds Lapbook. We also got our set of Draw, Write, Now books in the mail today and are in love with them. He drew the hen first, and I was amazed with his drawing, so was he!

I used to teach Kindergarten in the public schools, so I have tons of stuff from that experience that I get to share with my son now. I am always looking for new ways to organize all of the stuff in the schoolroom. This year's new treats were those drawers and the silver board for P to store all of HIS stuff in. ps-can anyone tell me if HSB has a spell check? |

So, I thought setting up a "new" blog would be easy. I am a Blogger user and have had my own personal blog for awhile now and feel confident in using it. I set this new blog up to just focus on our homeschooling adventure and also to share ideas and give back. I have searched the blogs in Homeschoolblogger for awhile now and gotten so many wonderful ideas. I felt it was time to give back and share some things I am doing. Here's my problem, Homeschoolblogger is completely different than Blogger! |

We just finished our ladybug lapbook today. Over the summer we took some time off from regular schooling and just did lapbooks. My son chose our theme and lucky me (ha ha), he chose bugs!!! I had fun with it though. First we did a lapbook entitled "Bugs," then we moved on to ants, bees, and finished with ladybugs. All his choice! He had more he wanted to do, but they will wait until next summer for now.
I am always curious to see what other people's schoolrooms look like so I thought I would begin by posting a shot of mine. This is my 5 year old son's work area. I have many other shots of the schoolroom, this is the most recent, showing our new drawers, from Target (I am in love with these drawers). We also have a big Ikea table (also love that store for schoolroom stuff), with stools and 2 big silver boards (like the one in the pic). There's also a whole nother wall completely filled with shelves and boxes for storage. It works great for us.
Ahhh, I feel really stupid, I can't seem to figure it out. I love challenges though and when can find the time, I will be figuring this new one out!
