"All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast." Proverbs 15:15 "Discontentment is not a product of circumstances; it is the state of the soul. Thankfulness is *how* you think; joy is the *abundance* it produces. You can practice joy and thanksgiving. Every day, every right response makes the fingers of your soul find the notes of joy and thanksgiving easier and easier." ~Debi Pearl - "Created to be His Help Meet"

May. 3, 2008 - Honor Your Husband -30 Day Challenge

I'm taking the "Honor Your Husband" challenge.  My goal is to pray for him everyday for the next 30 days.  If you are interested in joining me, use Mr. Linky below. I'm starting this challenge tomorrow. But others can join me at any point.

Day 1
List at Revive Our Hearts

Pray that your husband will grow spiritually and consider his accountability before the Lord. Pray that he will guard his heart by developing spiritual disciplines—Bible reading and study, prayer, meditation, scripture memorization, etc. (2 Pet. 3:18; Prov. 4:23)

What a wonderful idea. I try so much to honor my husband but if it's a daily ritual it will become habit. Takes 21 days for a habit to form.

We are engaged to be married on June 21. As I think about marriage and my responsibilities to my soon-to-be husband, it's overwhelming. Impossible apart from God's grace and His power. I want to be the wife he's waited so long for, the wife God would have me be, especially when, well, we know all about each other, including weaknesses and sins. This prayer challenge is a great way to pray through some things now.

This is a wonderful idea. Recently I have been doing much better praying for my husband daily, but sometimes they are not scripturally inspired. I try to tie them to scripture but it doesn't always happen. Thanks for these! I just wish I had been doing it since the beginning!

When we serve our husband with a smile and not with the 'have to' attitude, he serves us back with generousity too!

May. 15, 2008 - praying for my husband

I am going to pray for my husband daily, and I will also be praying for me. I have learned that before God can hear my petitions to God on my husband's account , I first have to get everything right with me. I have to get anger and pain out of my heart and turn them over to God.

I just signed up for the 30 day challenge. I am recently widowed (Nov of 2007) and soon to be married again to the man that was best man at our wedding. Altho I am not married to him yet, I wanted to start out our marriage with this 30 day challenge & was excited to run across it on this blog which I ran across by reading "the generous tip archive" on the "marriage bed.com" website. I am not a homeschooler, I don't have any kids, but most of my friends that do have kids have homeschooled at one time or another! Thank you for your site & for your 30 day challenge!! --Kim

It is amazing how many days can go busily by that I forget to pray for my husband and children. This will help me to get back into the routine/habit/frame of mind to simply lift them up each day. Thanks for the reminder.

Have you ever read "Created to Be His Help Meet'? I have a feeling you would enjoy it. It is written by non other than Debbi Pearl. She recommends praying for your husband and much more. Her thoughts, suggestions, eye opening comments and honest assessments have saved many marriages that have steered off track. She has a Godly sense of what is right, and what a Woman's role is.

I would like to hear your opinion of her book if you have read it, or do read it.

Blessings,
Chris

I believe God led me here today. Dh and I had an incident yesterday that showed me he feels I dishonor him and it crushed me. I need to learn to lift him up to the Lord and in the eyes of our children. Finding your blog is a divine appointment.
