His Will And Not My Own

Dec. 2, 2006 - I Survived, BARELY!!!!

Well, I'm still here and I just barely survived the thanksgiving weekend but not without a few scars..... We had Thanksgiving @ our house on Thurs., a family get together/wedding shower for a cousin on Fri., a family reunion consisting of somewhere around 100 people on Sat. (thankfully @ a local hotel where we rented a room) & another family get together for breakfast before they all headed back home on Sun. @ our home. Needless to say, we were unfortunately unable to make this all happen w/o any hitches. Why is it, that wherever there is family, there has to be family drama???? Is it just written or what??? Well, that's exactly what we had and wouldn't you know I was in the very middle of it all??? And what really gets me, is that I really tried sooo very hard to do the right thing by keeping my mouth shut and I still got into trouble. It's such a long story that I'm not about to try and write it all down but in the end me & my immediate family were basically run through the coals by other family members and it was not good. But I am very proud of myself and my family because through it all, we chose the high road. We did the right thing, we forgave and showed much love & mercy although we were shown NONE whatsoever.... So, we are praying for our family members & this situation so if you could keep us in your prayers it would be extremely appreciated....So, after everyone left I hit the couch and did not leave that spot (except for the normal everyday necessities: food & restroom, lol) for the next 36 hours and I am NOT kidding. I suffered from pure exhaustion of body, mind & spirit.... And since then I have been very sad over the events that unfolded. It really makes me want to start incorporating the word "NO" into my vocabulary more often but I'm sure there would still be drama even then.   okay i gotta go, my ds is thirsty and so am i....God bless all who read this, and here's something I would like to leave with those of you who feel my pain,

"Are you exhausted today? Are you taking pills for energy to get through the day? Or are you on a nervous high and need something to slow you down? Perhaps what your body is really crying for is rest. Is there rest for anyone in this tension-filled world? As the disciples returned from a missionary journey, they were elated with their success. They gave glowing reports of how God had worked. jesus was glad to hear their accounts, but he knew that they needed physical rest after their arduous journey. He invited them to come rest with him in a quiet place. We, too, need to refresh ourselves to maintain physical and spiritual strength. OUr schedules are demanding. They drain our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life. God's Holy Spirit gives us strength for his schedule for us. I believe God plans for us to include times of rest and relaxation in our schedule. If the disciples needed rest, so do we. Our rest times may consist of a vacation where we can rest and relax, a change of environment, or simply a respite right where we are. Time spent with the Lord brings renewal and refreshment." Millie Stamm

"He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me ikn paths of righteousness for his name's sake." Psalm 23:2-3

"Since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it." Hebrews 4:1

"Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders." Deuteronomy 33:12

"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall." Hebrews 4:9-11

LOVE TO ALL!!! GOD BLESS & KEEP YOU DURING THESE HOLIDAYS!!!

Thanks for the encouragement! It's nice to know that I am not alone! And WOW on your DD telling you about the radio. That's tough! You are not doing a bad job! You are doing a good job, cause she TOLD YOU! I can't imagine being the spiritual leader of the family.....it is a tough job!! I commend you for doing it! And will encourage you this way, the more you go to church, the more you will love it and the more your kids will want to go too. Eventually they will see there is somehting different about mom that they want....then God will be working on their hearts and hopefully they will answer the door, cause Jesus is knocking! : )
