Aug. 9, 2006 - My "baby" is 7 today
We had dd's birthday party yesterday. The weather was great- not unbearably hot and humid like last week. The kids ate pizza and got to play in the waterslide for a while. Then the boys decided to play baseball so dd and her friend went in her room to play with some new toys.
I actually made the birthday cake from scratch. It was chocolate cake with white buttercream frosting. I needed to make 2 batches of frosting though- one to frost the cake and one to tint and decorate. I attempted to make little cat pawprints
on top- to go along with her cat party theme. It was cute and must have tasted good because it is gone!
My husband and I gave dd her present last night. She was so surprised to
get Jess. She loves looking through the American Girl catalog but it is pricey.
She's very, very happy with her!
Tonight we are going out for supper in honor of dd's real birthday. She picked out a very exclusive place-- Friendly's. Originally she wanted Pizza Hut, but we still have a whole pizza left over from yesterday.
Hope you are enjoying (and savoring) your summer.
Blessings, Cheryl

What a cute picture! My dd loves looking through those catalogs too. I would like to get her one for her 8th birthday.
How time flys. It seems like yesterday they were born :)
Blessings,

What a great picture! You can see the joy in her eyes. This was a birthday she'll always remember, I'm sure. :)
Take care,

Beautiful picture!!!!
I was just stopping by to ask if you could please pass the word about the "Labor in Love" 30-Day Encouragement Challenge (from Revive Our Hearts) that we're doing beginning Sept. 4th? It would be great to have as many women as possible doing this (and I'm sure the husbands wouldn't mind either!)
In Him,
Amy

My oldest (will be 10 next June) and she would LOVE an American girl doll. I don't think it would even matter which one she got. She gets the magazine and will cut dolls out to make paper dolls. I hope it's ok, I'm adding you to my friends list.
