October 15th is a special day of rememberance.  Please pass along to anyone who has experienced this type of loss or that just might know someone who longs to hold their precious baby in heaven one day.

Thursday Oct 5th

"My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words."  Pro 4:20

This is our memory verse of the week.  We are studying attentiveness right now.  We are learning about the ear and soon we will be studying the eye.  Last week, we read about Helen Keller and watched The Miracle Worker.  We also talked about the jobs that involve your undivided attention.  Such as, an air traffic controler.  Also, the boys made their own advertisement.  We discussed the different things that caught our eyes.  So much to learn and so little time.

We went to the state fair on Tuesday ! so hot!!  I only lasted 5 hours and then my feet were about to fall off.  Hopefully, my dh can go back with the older boys and catch all the things we missed.

I am now 23 weeks and feel and look bigger than a house ~ no joke!  We have been all suffering with allergies.  I just took my new med ~ Zyrtec.  Hopefully it will make me feel better.  I have a headache and I am so drained.  The baby is getting better.  He is now only taking benedryl at night.  His congestion is almost gone.

Have a blessed weekend.

Monday, September 18th

I thought I would try to catch up!  We have been so busy!  Time flies ~ blessing #5 will be here before we know it.

First, my level II sonogram results were great.  The baby is healthy as far as they can tell.  Amen!  I have to go again next month just to double check.

Doobies is playing soccer for the very first time.  It is very relaxed.  He told me "I didn't make any goals but at least I got some good crackers!"  Snacks are the motivator!  Papa told him he would give him a $1 for every goal.  Not too interested.  Maybe he should just give him a M&M or a tic tac.  That would make it more worth wild. He just runs with all the other kids.  In fact, one of the girls is the best player on the team.

Bruiser and Doodle Bug will play basketball soon.  Doodle Bug is the football player but we won't let him play tackle so he refuses to play.  Sorry ~ we will not be practicing everyday for 2+ hours and then a game on Saturday.  We played city ball2 years ago and it was horrible.

Tooties is cuter then ever.  Talking up a storm.  Yes, he is still getting into everything.  The other day he opened a tube of toothpaste and was eating it in Walmart.   It was all over his face.  He was in the cart while I was helping Bruiser pick out some inexpensive deodorant.  Tooties loves to brush his teeth but prefers adult toothpaste over the watermelon kind.

I must go and get our supper together.  I made a lasagna in the crock pot and want to throw a salad together.  Not spinach!  Bummer!  We all love spinach instead of lettuce.

Friday

Good Morning!

I had a disaster with the coffee pot this morning.  It leaked all over the counter and behind the refrigerator.  I have the worst time finding a good coffee maker.  This one is new and continues to have black stuff at the end of the pot.  Yuck!

We have decided to join a bible study class once a week.  There is a class for the boys and one for the women.  It was a hard decision for me because I hate to miss school.  Or I feel guilty! So the boys will have a light day when we go to the class.  We will do math, reading, and spelling.  The bible class is only 11 weeks long.  I thought that it would be good for all of us.

We are still working on our Horse unit.  We are learning so much!  I love unit studies!  It's the way to go for my family.  I am looking into Konos next year.

I am currently reading 90 Minutes in Heaven.  It is a true story about a preacher who was in a car wreck and died for 90 minutes and got a taste of heaven.  Very Interesting!  More later after I get more into the book.

Off to start the day.  Have a blessed one!

Thursday

Tooties fell out of the bed with the rail yesterday while he was sleeping?  Don't know how he could possibly achieve it but he did!  I think the big boy bed will have to be on hold.  Yesterday I caught him on top of the kitchen table taking a bite out of every piece of fruit in the fruit bowl.

The nurse called and said that my sonogram was negative.  I will go next month for a level II just to make sure.  I am already bigger than a barn.  I feel so yucky and fat!!  Can't wait to get on Weight Watchers after our blessing is born.

I am pretty sure I am going to purchase Spell to Write and Read mainly for Bruiser but all the other boys will be able to benefit from it too.  We are working on our Horse Unit Study.  We are learning so much.  This unit was the request of the boys.

Must  jump in the shower before Tooties gets up and burns dowm the house.

Have a blessed day!

Tueday, August 22

Good Morning!

We are having our very own basketball team in late January.  Yep!  It's our 5th boy!!!  Hard to pick out a name when you already have used all the good boys name.  We have decided on a name and we aren't telling anyone!  So you just have wait!

Tooties is already in his terrible 2's!  It's a blessing he wasn't the first one ~ 'cause he probably would be the only one!  Also, thank God that I got pregnant before he reached this hairy stage in his life because #5 ~ Nope! Nope! I have never had a child that has been so busy to say the least!!!  He took a nap in his big boy bed yesterday!  I thought he was going to kill me thru the wall.  He was so mad at me!!!  But he finally fell asleep and we made a big deal of it when he woke up!  So we will try it again today.  YIKES!!!

We have started ASL with boys.  They are so interested in it.  So hopefully we will keep it up.  It would e helpful if we knew someone who could help us.  School is going good!  We are ahead like planned.

I am reading this book that was meant for me!!!!  Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit by Teri Maxwell.  Oh so I want to not raise my voice when one of them doesn't do something that I want.  For example, I get so frustrated sometimes when one of them can't sound out something that they learned in first grade.  I take it personally like I am a failure.  I now realize my behavior is sinful!  I need to have a meek and quiet spirit towards my chidlren.  God made one of my sons with a mild learning disability.  It was all part of His plan.  He will get me through it.  He actually is doing much better then we expected!  I just have to get the grade thing out of my head!!!  But he excels in the greatest and most important area ~ he knows God and knows scripture!  He has such a huge heart!  Why on earth should I worry about the academics when God is in his heart and will lead him?  All I can do is try my best to teach him and God will take care of the rest!

AMEN!!!!!!!  Enough of my sermon today!!  Have a wonderful day!  I encourage you to study scripture on having a meek and quiet spirit!  I will walk this journey with you!  It is a long goal ~ but He will lead us if we ask Him.

Wednesday

My results came back perfectly normal with the sono/blood work.  So no need to be alarmed.  Thank God!  For some reason, I was a bit nervous I guess due to my age.  I hit 35 in June.  They use to say your chances increase to have an abnormal child at the age of 35.  I know today people are having chidlren at a much older age.

School is going good!  Smoothly!  We are finishing before lunch which was my intention.  We have read a loud time after lunch. Then the boys finish up on their own any unfinished work.  Bruiser and Doodle Bug have finished 4 chapter books in less than a month!!!!

This week is our 10 year anniversary!  My dh has given a sweet card and a little gift each day!    We thought that we might do something unusual for our anniversary like watch a movie without the kids and actually stay awake~ Just Kidding!

Must  get back to school!!!!

Good Morning!

Just a quick update on my sonogram yesterday!!

The baby looks great ~ heartbeat was perfect!  She was measuring the skin on the back of the neck and that was within range.  Amen!!!    I got some cute pics!!  The boys thought that he/she looks like an alien.  I will get the blood test results next week.  They have to mail it out of state.

I am feeling better slowly but surely since I am no taking the progesterone.  Yea!!!!

Saturday, July 22

I went to the dr on Thursday ~ Everything is great.  The baby's  heartbeat was very strong!  I have a sonogram/test on Monday to screen out Downs, SB, and mental retardation.  I can't remember what the test is called.  Anyways, I had it with Tooties.  I also stopped taking the progesterone that makes me so ill.  I am already feeling better.

We had our first full week of school.  We have been doing school but taking off when something fun came up.  So our official school year is on it's way.  Doobies is doing so well.  Better than I expected.  He is learning 3 letter words, started his Horizon K math, handwriting, and writes in his storybook everyday.  The boys have been reading chapter books on their own.  YIPEE!!!  I love to read and want them to enjoy it as well.  So, my prayer has been answered.  Especially when they read stuff about Thomas Jefferson, dinosaurs, and etc.

The boys have been swimming in the pool everyday!  What a great investment.  Today they went in at 8:30 am and didn't come out until 11am.  Rain and all!!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!  It's only 100 today.  A cold front must have come in ~ It went up to 107 ~ UGH!!!

Tuesday

I know I have been terrible about writing.  The pregnancy blues have really gotten the best of me.  I am tired, sick, and irritable(to say the least)

After lots of prayer I have an answer to Tooties illness ~ Lactose Intolerance.  I have put two and two together and he has been fine ever since.  I have to give him a chewable tablet that helps him digest dairy products.  He refuses to drink milk but loves yogurt ~ So, I give him 2 yogurt drinks daily.  Who needs a doctor???? ~ I knew he wasn't reinfecting himself with the flu.  Especially when no of the others have gotten it.  So, Amen to a simply non-threatening solution.  My Tooties is fine and continues to destroy everything in sight.  In fact, today I was working on the computer for Mary Kay.  He kept asking me for JEW (juice).  I told him in a minute ~ he turned the computer off and I lost at least 30 min of data entry ~ UGH!!!! Then ran off!

Doobies is at my parents house being spolied rotten ~ He has been to Kemah, zoo, and the Chidlren's musuem.  His all time favorite place is the children's musuem in Houston.  They have a really good gift shop!!!  Also, they have gone swimming everyday.

We are doing school for the most part.  We are taking breaks when I feel yucky or if there is something going on that we just can't miss. Summer time fun!

We are waiting for my dh to put up our blue pool for the kids to play.  Well, mommy will have her own time with my raft.  I might be a huge moose but i will a tan one!!!!

Friday, June 23

Tooties woke up last night vomiting and had a dirty diaper.  He continued to dry heave throughout the night.  I called the dr and spoke with him about what the next step was.  I took a stool sample to the dr.  The lab results are pending until the middle of next week.  They are making sure he doesn't have parasite.  If the stool sample comes back negative then we will go to Children's to see a GI specialist.   So please continue to keep my sweet angel in your prayers.

BTW, he is acting fine today ~ eating, drinking and destroying everything in site.

Thursday

We just got back from my first OB doctor appointment.  Good news ~ we saw a heart beat on the sonogram and everything looks great.  Amen!  I have a history of miscarriages.  So we are always are on  pins and needles.  My official due date is Feb 2nd.  We are praying for a girl, of course, but we will take another cute boy.  Of I forgot to tell you ~ there is only one fetus!!!  I had a nightmare last night that there were 3.  I was actually hyperventilating waiting for the dr. to come and examine me this morning.
Tooties has been better for 2 days now.  We are still monitoring his diet somewhat until we know for sure he is out of the woods.

Off to empty the dishwasher.

Tuesday

My darling tooties vomited during lunch and then continued to dry heave.  Probably my fault ~ I was eating an orange and he loves the citrus fruit.  I am sure that made him queezy.  The acid was the killer.  Please continue to pray ~ it breaks my heart to see him sick.

Another succesful day of school.  Yippee!  The boys are finishing up without a fight!  They are loving it!  We finish up before lunch and then we have read a loud  before I go and nap.  I love my nap time!  Of course, Tooties is snoozing as well.

Tonight I have Keno ~ it has been post-poned and then post-poned.  I am looking forward to the yummy food and also the social aspect of the night.  Adult conversation!

We are about to have ice cream sundaes.  Then the boys will go out and find something to put in their notebook.  Bruiser already commented that he had a desire to learn more about the new twigs Daddy planted about 6 weeks ago.  You have to understand that there are no trees in this neck of the woods ~ the builders knocked them all down.  So we planted 5 trees that are suppose to grow quickly.  Not quickly enough.  I would love to have a large maple tree with a picnic table underneath it.  Perfect for school.

Farwell~

Jun. 19, 2006

Today was our first day of the new school year.  Wow!  It went better than I expected.  We all finsihed before lunch and everyone was ready to go at 8:30.  Amen!

The Tooties has been fine for 3 days.  However, he vomitted on our way to church.  Poor thing!  Daddy took him home and cleaned him up.  He dried heaved the rest of the morning.  He took a very long nap and when he woke up he was fine.  And ever since ~ so keep praying.

Lat night during family movie night, Tooties bible study teacher came over and bought him a toy.  She was worried about him.  She also missed his cute little smile.  He has missed church for 3 weeks.  What a sweet gesture that made me smile.  How I want to be like that sweet lady.

Today is clean the master bathroom day.  I have already washed the bath mats.  Also, I must clean up the GREEN paint off my carpet that the boys spilled during art time.  Now I just noticed that there is paint dripping from my walls that have only been painted for 6 months since we moved in.

Friday

Yesterday we went to Surf N Swim.  It is a wave pool with a little kiddie area too.  We were there for about 4 hours.  We all had so much fun~ There was a beautiful breeze under the shade.  We took a picnic lunch.

Tooties ate too many cheetos ~ and threw up last night ~ He has been fine for 2 days ~ Help!!!  Orange chuncky barf ~ YUCK!  Of course, today he is acting fine ~ Eating a bananna and 5 donut holes.  So, don't really know if he just ate too much junk or what.

My dh wants us all to go to see Cars this weekend for F-day.  Dh even bought the Tooties a Cars outfit.  PLEEZZZZ!!!  He wanted me to save it for the movie.  Also, he bought the other boys Cars caps.

Monday we start school.  We are all ready.  Well as ready as we will ever be!!! We also start latin ~ I'm a little nervous since I have no clue what Latin is except that I think that it might be a language or something.  We are going to be using Latina Christina.  Suppose to be for the illitterate mother!  The curriculum is for 1-4 grades.  Hopefully I can handle it.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Wednesday

I took Tooties to the doc yesterday.  The dr believes that it is a virus.  My baby was horrified ~ they took blood, x-rays, and looked in his ears.  I hope his first trip to this new doctor hasn't scarred him.  It was hearbreaking for my me to see my little angel terrified.  I still have to give them a stool sample to rule out  a parasite.  But no vommiting in the middle of the night last night.

My parents are coming here instead.  The boys are excited.  At least they can enjoy the last few days of their summer break ~ One of us will stay at home with the baby while we take them swimming.  School starts on Monday.  I have enjoyed the break.  Well, for the most part.  I wish we were able to do more but my poor baby can't help it if he has been ill.

Tuesday, June 13th

Happy Tuesday!

I spoke to soon.  Tooties has been puking again ~ Mostly dry heaving ~ Bless his heart.  I will call the dr again.  We were suppose to leave to go to my parents today ~ Just me and the boys until Saturday in Houston.  Plans have changed.  The boys are so upset.  Lots of swimming plans have been cancelled.  The boys have been so bored because we haven't been anywhere in about 12 or 13 days.  Not a fun way to spend their summer break!

We watched Narnia last night as a family.  We love that movie!!!  Family Movie Night is a major deal around here.  Even Tooties is starting to enjoy movies.  We have a memebership to Netflix.  Last movie night was National Velvet.  Awesome!  The boys loved it!  I am trying to schedule movie night once a week.  But that doesn't always happen.

I have been doing laundry and I am finally caught up from raiding Doobies closet.  At least 5 loads were on the bottom of his closet.  I will only clean their drawers and closets once a quarter.  Honestly, it is a waste of time to clean the drawers but it makes me feel good afterwards.  Also, I spent the day running errands in town on Saturday with Doodle Bug.  While I was gone. My dh did 4 loads of laundry without me asking..  And he didn't even want anything in exchange.   I was so appreciative.

Today I will put together our memory verse index file togther for our family.  Also, I will put the boys binders together for them.  I am really trying to make an effort on scripture memorization for our family.  We have tried many things so hopefully this tactic will work for us.

Have a blessed day ~

Monday, June 12th

Good Morning!
I am so happy that our computer is working ~ The power surger blew up on Saturday.  Smoke and everything!  My dh wasn't sure what happened.  Thank God he was on the computer at the time and not me.  So, I am not to blame.  We just bought a new power surger yesterday!  Bingo!

My 3 ds spent the night at my sister and BIL last night.  They went swimming at the pool and then last night they watched the Mavs!!  Go Mavs!!!!  I love living in a town where there is such entusiasm going on.  I was living in Houston during the time when the Rockets won the finals ~ 2 years in a row.  That was exciting.

Tooties is feeling much better,  Last night was the first night he didn't get sick in the middle of the night.  Amen!  He has been on a cracker and bananna diet for days ~ Yuck!!!!  This virus has lasted 10 days ~

Last night we watched the movie Hotel Rwanda.  It was really good but heartbreaking.  I encourage you to watch if you haven't yet.  It is based on a true story between 2 tribes in Africa.  It defintely had a major effect on both my husband and me.

I have almost everything ready to start school on June 19th.  We are just going to take one day at a time and enjoy being together and discovering  a joy for learning.  I read a quote from Sally Clarkson's book Educating the Whole-Hearted Child and it really touched my heart. Our goal as parents should be to make stewards and Godly children not to teach them how to earn lots of money and what to spend it on.  If they a truly disciples of Christ they will be happy with any job that God has in store for them.  How true is that?  This is where I struggle the most.  Of course, I want all my children going to college and being successful and making lots of $$$. (So they can hire a private nurse and we don't have to go to a nursing home) LOL!  But what is God's plan for them?  I pray that I won't be disappointed if my plans for my childrens aren't God's plan.  I must continue to have faith in God that he has a plan for my children and knows what is right.  Not me ~   So, all I can do is to continue to pray each day that God will guide me in educating my boys both spiritually and academically.  Don't get me wrong ~ I know we are doing the right thing for my children by choosing to educate them at home.  I know this is the best education for my children despite what the wordly view is regarding to education or defining success?  I want you to think about what success is to you?  More discusinng on this tom ~ Please comment on your defintion on success.

In Him,
Jill

Friday ~ June 9th

My poor Tooties vomited twice last night.  Poor thing!  I called the dr. and they said to keep giving him fluids.  He's not running a fever.  They didn't think that it was neccessary to bring him in.  I am glad that they are honest.  I despise going to the dr when they don't do a darn thing for them.  It's a virus and must run it's course.  The nurse said it could last up to 10 days.  Only 3 more days.

OK~ I have been trying to vacumn despite the fact the vacumn over heats in every other room.  Then it takes at least 30-40 min to start again.  So needless to say, vacuming takes all day at my house.  By the time the vacumn comes back on the rest of the house is already dirty.  UGH!  This vacumn really gets on my last nerves.  BTW it is about 6 months old and has already been repaired once.  Someday I maybe I can hire a maid that owns her own vacumn.

Last night they boys and my dh blasted off their bottle rockets at the church building for scouts.  Eveyone makes rockets out of 2 liters.  You fill it up with water and then blast off~ I had to miss it because tf the sick baby but last year it was a blast!  No pun intended.

My dh just got an used boat to take the boys fishing.  Just a few minor repairs are neccessarily.  It will be a weekend job.  So the boys are so excited.  I have to admit....  I love to be out in the sun..  Boating is right up my alley.

Well, please pray that my contrary vacumn cleaner starts up again.  Have a great weekend.
