Enjoy A Peek Into The Wood Family Home- Where Blessings Truly Abound!
Oct. 16, 2007 - Hello Everyone!!!
I just remembered that this site was still up and thought you should all know that I have been blogging over at Homesteadblogger.com. I learned about it awhile back in the TOS magazine and thought it would fit our livestyle best since the Lord had just blessed us with 40acres. I don't write awhole lot on our homeschooling books, more on our daily living, since that is mainly what our homeschool is made up of.. LIFE! I know many of you that the Lord has led the same way- to faithful prepare our children for what the Lord has planned for them with the appropriate use of texts but more importantly the strong biblical daily life application that can only be taught by living life along side your parents!
You can visit me by clicking on: www.homesteadblogger.com/blessingsabound
I am sorry that I forgot to post this note LONG ago! Have a wonderful day filled with His Grace!!

Aug. 4, 2006 - Peek into our home
The children and I enjoyed a drive up to the property to get some more goats milk from the family that is keeping our goats till we are ready. The views on the drive are simply breath taking!
Joe, the children and I did some grocery shopping as well as purchased shoes for those that needed it. I think we purchased shoes for 6 children, three already had shoes that fit and one wasn't with us. The total for their shoes, which included buying on clearance at Payless Shoe Source, was 115.42! Shoes is something that I always have to keep in the budget, reading and waiting for that day when one of the children announce, "Hey Mom! I can't get my foot inside my shoe!" Or.. "Uh, mom?! My toe can fit through the hole in the bottom of my shoe!" How does this happen all of a sudden? It is as if I have "shoe varmints" that invade the children's closets while they sleep and destroy their shoes when we least expect it!
Clothes shopping is coming soon as well! Now, that one I am really dreading! Two of the boys have announced that their pants have "shrunk" actually, they have streached out! The girls brought it to my attention that they are needing clothes as well. My Heart is filled with Thanksgiving because of His faithfulness! Faithful is the Lord! He always provides the funds for our needs- He alone is worthy of all praise!
Well, we are getting close to closing escrow.. don't know exactly how close but I trust we will be signing papers in HIS perfect timing! Let's see, anything else to share? Hmm... I guess not. I best call it a night and go enjoy my babies and husband before the day comes to an end. If the Lord brings me to mind, please lift our family in prayer as I will be in the hospital most of next week- surgery is on Monday morning. I pray that each of you have had a fruitful week and that His blessing are poured out abundantly upon your households!
Because of His love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood

Jun. 17, 2006 - Blessing our Husband
Each of us know the unique desires and joys of our husbands, no one can be a better wife or helpmate to them for we were created by the hand of God to meet their needs and help them complete the tasks the Father has laid out for them! It brings me so much comfort to know that God Himself knit me perfectly for my dear Joe. As long as I have a heart of prayer and a desire to bless my husband, I will not fail.
Have you considered how you will be blessing your husband this weekend? I have included a link I found on putting Christ back into the romance of your marriage but I haven't the time to really go through it. I am off to the cabin for the weekend as I celebrate my father, brother and husband. It is a tradition we do each year that the family anticipates all year long. Such sweet times have been had up on those mountains- we are so blessed to have Mighty men of God ruling our homes! Okay.. so here is the link for your own review in case you need to jumpstart some ideas:
http://www.marriagemissions.com/resources/romantic.php
As for me, I started my Fathers day celebration earlier this week and have done the following:
I have kissed my husband every day, amazing how that simple act can soften his heart and mine. So often we get busy with life and forget to just kiss one another.
I have made him his favorite meals each night and had them ready when he arrived home from work.
I have asked what he needed accomplished while he was away and then deligently worked to have those items completed.
I have written him notes of my love and appreciation for him.
I have called him on his cell just to say that I appreciated all the work he did for our family and looked forward to spending the rest of my life with him.
I have purchased a cake for our weekend at the cabin, packed the suitcase, filled the cars with fuel, prepared the goodies that were my responsibilty to bring and printed out the map so that there was no worry or anxiousness in getting ready to go.
I will continue to share of my love for him this weekend and I will smile often!! I will continue to express my love in words but more importantly in actions! I will purpose that all my words will build him up and not tear him down! I will dream with my Joe...something he loves to do!
That's all I can think of at the moment and I must run to get these little ones ready. I will check back when we arrive home and see how your weekend of blessing your husband is going. Share here on the blog if you can, although I love the emails too!
With much love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood (Jeanette)

Jun. 15, 2006 - Update on the blessings here in our home....
Hello Friends I am checking in real quick to update you on all the blessings that truly abound here in the Wood Family.
First, we are officially in escrow for the property I mentioned to you all awhile back. We are to take possesion on the 15th of July and are eager to do so. The Lord is blessing us abundantly with 40 acres that are awesome! Very useable land that if overflowing with blessings.... here are just a few of them: mature fruit and nut trees as well as berry bushes and wild grapes that I can use for jam. We have three springs and two creeks along with one pond that is stocked with fish! Our springs provide the water for our three bedroom one bath cozy cabin on a gravity system, no pump is needed since our springs are so strong! We also have government land on two sides of us, AND we have a deed to some of the government land and one of our springs that are on the governments land PLUS we have rights to the path that leads down to a lake!!!! We are so richly blessed. In fact, we have decided the sign above our entrance will read: "Welcome to the Wood's- Where Blessings Abound!" As I walked the property that is all that kept coming to mind... everywhere I looked I found another sweet blessing! The property is ran on a generator for now and we will be converting the home to an off grid solar system in the next few months however, it does have phone and internet. Now that really made Joe and I giggle, the Lord knows we needed phone and internet for our home business even if we didn't have elctricty we could make that work! He is so wonderful in all His ways! We will be living where we are until the adoption is complete which leads me to the issue of court this last week.
We are preparing to leave for OK and TX this next week, I am kinda nervous about going but my Joe says to go and all will be fine here on the home front! He is such a wonderful husband and Father!
Oh, before I forget to ask.... what are you doing to honor your husband this weekend? I would love to hear your ideas and will try to post mine before the big day! Let's make a deal to really put our whole heart into blessing our husbands this weekend, letting them know how blessed we are to be their wives! Are you up to being accountable for this task? I know I am! I will post what I plan to do and what I really do! With prayer the Lord will sprinkle it with blessings and it will be a memory making weekend!
I better run for now, the night is getting late. Write when you can dear friends, I always love hearing from you!
With love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood (Jeanette)

Jun. 11, 2006 - CARS!
This weekend we took a trip to the movie theater to watch the new film Cars. Has anyone else seen this film yet? Well, it was cute and was a great way to remind the children why we should listen to the council of others. I will be bringing that lesson home again and again. However, what I cherrished most was the laughter from my babies as they watched with eyes glued to the large screen. Our toddler kept screaming "cars fast, cars fast." This morning he and Sammy awoke to play CARS down the hall! What joy our little ones bring us! We really did enjoy the film and if you have ten children and two adults attending the night time show you can expect to pay 81.50 and that includes two toddlers that get in for free! Okay, so it wasn't the cheapest laughter I have ever heard... but it was worth every penny in my opinion! Now, I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can hear those cheers of excitement and delight once again!
Take care freinds and if you want to check out a cute film with the children.. this is a good choice in my opinion!
Oh, I took the "what kind of car you are" at the Disney site and I was a Fillmore! LOL go take the test for yourself and let me know what kind of car you are! Have a wonderful day dear friends!!! http://adisney.go.com/disneypictures/cars/main.html
