Yesterday a homeschooling friend of mine called me up and asked if I wanted to go to an art class with him. Unsuspecting the torture I would be experiencing in a couple of hours, I said sure. That was the fatal mistake that found me in a small classroom at a gallery in Sarnia two hours later, listening to this:
(Teacher draws line on paper.) "What is this, kids?" (kid answers.) "A line?" (Teacher.) "That's correct!" "we can draw different kinds of lines, straight ones, squiggly ones, zig-zagging ones, all kinds of lines!" "What do we sometimes like to add to our drawings?" (kids are silent.) "Colors! all sorts of different colors."
Ya... I'm not joking.
We ended up dawing a tiger step by step.
My friend and I drew a better tiger than the teacher. I am glad that's over!
