Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

January 10th 2006

Tonight we watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I like the part where Gideon, the youngest brother says, “I’m an uncle!” and faints (that’s when he hears Millie’s baby cry).  I also like the part where they have the big dance. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is such a funny movie. I think you might want to get it too. We have watched it on DVD and on Video, and so can you! Bloggirl.

I especially like the name "Frank", LOL! If you like 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, maybe you'll like Fiddler on the Roof, too. That's another favorite of mine.

Nov. 8, 2006 - Hi!

I was just reading your story of how you found Mr. Coonikins to my son. We loved the story. Then I just kept on reading! I have to tell you about seeing Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. When I was about 21 I went to visit my sister in California, and she took me to see a live performance of it. It was on an outdoor stage with a big amphitheater. It was a beautiful, clear night. The funny thing was that the airport was just on the other side of the amphitheater, and every few minutes a HUGE airliner would take off right over the stage, and go right over us! Of course, you couldn't hear a thing during it! So the actors had to "freeze" in place while the airplanes went over, sometimes for several seconds, until the noise had passed. Then the actors (and musicians!) picked right up where they left off and kept on......until the next plane! It was not a good way to see a musical! The funny part was that in the middle of dances the had to do the same thing. I felt sorry for them, but I felt very sorry for the audience to have to endure it too.
Anyway, I guess it made a pretty cool memory! I have always loved that musical!

Blessings!
