Oct. 30, 2007 - Getting Books for $1.50! Paperback Swap
Paperback Swap! Have you heard of this? I have been a swapping member for a couple years now; and I have traded so many books I didn't want for books I really needed, I have lost count! In fact, I have recently gotten several What Your _____ Grader Needs to Know series books; and others I have been wanting for a long time. I have found many Sonlight books here; as well as other great homeschool books. All you do is pay postage when you mail a book to someone else. Then you get a book credit, and you pick any book you want that is available. The person sending the book always pays to postage. So, on average the cost for a book is $2.50. This is including gas or postage, or postage and the extra fee to print postage and mail books from home. Either way, it costs an average of $2.50. You do not pay twice. Did that make sense? I love this! i thought maybe you would to. Post 9 books in the system, and I will receive 1 credit for referring you. You will also receive 1 credit for just for posting the books! Under Search, you can find top searches and choose homeschooling to see all of the books specifically earmarked as homeschooling. Happy Swapping
The bottom line is; We try not to insist on parent-led learning or gravitate toward child-led learning. We try instead to focus on God-led learning and ask for His input and perspective on every aspect of our home school. That way, when others fuss about what Dan and I are doing and make me second guess our decisions -- I can go back to our decision process and find God's fingerprints, reminding me that this is His way.
