Hi! Thank you for the comment on our blog. You daughter looks like a wonderful Mom's Helper and those Rice Krispy Treats look yummy.
Your family photo and individual photos are very lovely too from Easter. I got one of our daughter and her friends but that was it. I did get a nice one of our pastor and wife. They hschool too and have 10 children. Two are college age. They are an inspiration!
Nice to 'meet' you and I LIKE your intro. about how you decide what to do in homeschooling. I was e talking with a new mom to homeschooling, she is a teacher by profession and saying how different it feels to be responsible for all the homeschooling or one's own children and the children won't be passed on to another grade and teacher. That's for sure. I think with we time one gains confidence and to be able to know the Lord is leading is a wonderful reassurance!
There are always those who will question but the public and private schools get questions too. I've heard all of that from parents and others.
I'm new to HSB, and I came upon yours! Reading the statement in your profile (under your picture), I really felt myself saying "Amen." That statement really says it all. In the midst of all the adversity that ALWAYS seems to follow homeschooling, it is always great to remember that it really doesn't matter whose approval we may or may not have.... We have HIS approval, for sure, and that is all that matters!!!!!!! Blessing to you and I'll definitely be returning to your blog!!!!!!!
The bottom line is; We try not to insist on parent-led learning or gravitate toward child-led learning. We try instead to focus on God-led learning and ask for His input and perspective on every aspect of our home school. That way, when others fuss about what Dan and I are doing and make me second guess our decisions -- I can go back to our decision process and find God's fingerprints, reminding me that this is His way.
