One of My Favorite Resources

I absolutely love Librivox  What is Librivox?  It is a source of free audio books from the public domain.  It's like Project Gutenberg, but with sound.  Volunteers read the books.  They are downloaded by chapter.   The quality varies greatly, sometimes even within a book.  One book had stories being read by the residents of a retirement home.  It was like listening to grandma for story time.

So far our favorites are The Story of Dr. Doolittle, Robinson Crusoe Written Anew for Children, and The Velveteen Rabbit.  We might try Little Women next.  I know that it doesn't take the place of mama reading to the babies, but it saves me the shame of falling asleep midsentence when reading those longer books.  Try it out sometime.

That sounds good to me. Sometimes I doze off in the middle of a story too.
Thanks for sharing!
