Dec. 16, 2009 Rodentia and the Rest
We have finished our first semester. Today in science we dissected an owl pellet. There was so much stuff in one pellet, I almost had the entire skeleton of a rodent. Way Cool!

Nov. 17, 2009 Dip Into The Ink Well
Today we made our own ink and I wrote a letter "back home to my papaw". It really just says, "Dear Papaw, This is harder than I thought. Love, Brad".

Nov. 15, 2009 Pilgrim Study
It's that time of year again. We are filling our week before Thanksgiving with our study of the pilgrims. Here I made a cart (before they had horses) like the one they may have used. Tomorrow we are making ink and/or butter. I like learning about the first pilgrim. Did you know they took a WHOLE WEEK to have a Thanksgiving feast. Yummmm....a week of good food! I wish we did that instead of just one day.

Nov. 10, 2009 Another Zoo Day
We went to the zoo today. We saw Wild Safari 3D @ the IMAX. After that, we walked around to see the animals that were in the film. I love the zoo. I want to be a zoologist when I grow up.

Sep. 1, 2009 Being A Bear is hard work!
I am trying a day in the life of a bear. It's hard work without opposable thumbs.
It was so hard to get a snack....I now know why bears are always so hungry.

Aug. 30, 2009 Friday Field Trips
We try to take a field trip every Friday. That is only from now until winter comes. We almost NEVER go anywhere in the winter. So far this year, we have been to the zoo, a baseball game, the wildlife safari and to see the Blue Angels. I have had a lot of fun and it's only our 4th week of homeschool. I don't want winter to get here too soon. Later....B-Man

Jul. 18, 2009 Happy Summer Everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great summer. So far, I have been to the pool, the funplex, the batting cage, golfing, park, and Mississippi to visit my relatives. I am now going to a Leather Carving camp that my Uncle Bud & Aunt Jo told me about. I love it. It's so much fun and the kids there are very nice. I made a koozie, a journal and a key chain. Check out the pictures.
Here's a tip: Only hammer the stamps once...or it could go right through the leather. It happened to me! Ha Ha.....

May. 28, 2009 We Are Done....sorta
We are officially finished with our first year of homeschool! Wow! We both learned so much. My only regret is that I didn't start out homeschooling. I had no idea what we were missing! Next year will be interesting, as I will homeschool Bradley and his brother. Teenagers....yikes!
We finished our curriculum about two weeks ago and have been taking a little break. Next week we will start a Unit Study on Horses. We'll learn all the correct lingo, anatomy, etc as well as learn about many of our famous cowboys. (Bradley and Uncle Bud included, I am sure)
I hope all of our friends and family have a wonderful summer. Thank you so much for all of your comments and please keep them coming. They really brighten our day. We'll post things through out the summer, and definitely keep you updated when we start back in the fall!
Love to you all,
"Mrs. Mom" :^)

We met a homeschool family last week at Park Day and they invited us to go ice skating with them. Here's a picture of me. It was my very first time ever to ice skate. I love it. It was so much fun.
Mom laughed at me because I was ice skating with my cowboy gloves on. I am still a cowboy, even on skates.
Peace Out!
