teens place part 3

Hello again everyone, I hope everything is going well with you all. I recently found out that many of the people I know are going through a not very good time right now, and I didn’t know it till they told me, so I wanted to start this off by telling you that when you’re going through hard time you need to let people in sooner rather than later. So I wanted to ask if you’re going through hard things to let me know if I can pray or talk with you.

Alright now I didn’t get much response from my last entry and that’s fine, I waited a long time to write again to give you more time to read or comment. I’m not sure if you’re not liking the topic or you just didn’t have anything to say about it, but I’m still going to write about teen’s until I can’t think of anything else till talk about. And if it’s not what you want to read about I’m sorry, but if you want you can leave a comment about what you would like me to write about next.

Alright well this time I’m talking about teen’s and there place in the Church; now when I say Church I mean the body of Christ not the building you may go to on Sunday. So how should we as teens be in the Church? What things should we do, and what should a Godly teen look like? Well let’s see what we can find. First off, think for a moment for those of you who do go to a building with other Christians every Sunday. Think and try to remember if there are any elderly people who could use a young friend to help them with their house or yard work. You would really be surprised to see how many go without things because they just can’t do or get it. Many live with thing that can be very dangerous because they can’t fix it or make it safe. You couldn’t believe how many are so lonely because they don’t have a husband or wife anymore, and there kids live far away, do you know that elderly people who have someone to talk to or someone that just really cares for them will live longer and be healthier, not to mention how much they can and would love to teach you.

The bible tells us we need to look after and tack care of widows, orphans, and these’s who need something that we can give.  Jams 1:27 “Pure religion that God our father accepts is this, to look after orphans and widows in there distress and to keep one’s self from being polluted by the world.” Now I know that this just says orphans and widows but I do believe that what Jams is saying is to care for those who cannot do things on their own, he gives orphans and widows as an example because they could do nothing to provide for themselves. But he is saying take care of the people who need help to live. And I will even take it as far as take care of those who are less forcemeat than you are, if you can help them you should. Now it could mean you can just talking with a lonely old man or woman, or doing there shopping, and cleaning, are there people in your site who need help.

Matthew 25:34-40 say’s “Then the king will say to those on his right hand, ‘come you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him saying, ‘ Lord when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and cloth You? Or when did we see You sick or in prison and come to You?’ And the king will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to me.’ ” if you’re asking yourself did Jesus just say when you help people just to help them it’s the same as if you did it to Him, than yes that is what you just heard Jesus say. Now we are not to look at this passage and say ok so when I do things for people God gives me stuff, we’re meant to look at it as God feels that it is so important to take care of people who we can’t take care of themselves, that He looks at and rewords it just as if you had done it to Him. He wants us to know that when we do these things for others that in His eyes we have done great things for Him Jesus Christ, yes when you help you old naber cut her yard God say’s thank you for cutting my yard. Now this also means that when you look across the street in the winter and that nice 70 year old man who has no one in his life is shoveling his driveway and you just sit there saying wow, you’d think he get someone to do that for him. God sits in heaven looking down and is heartbroken that you sat there and watch Jesus struggle and strain himself to do something that you could do with great ease.

Acts 4:32-35. “Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of land or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” This passage I think is taken the wrong way sometimes. People have said that this passage tells how we are to look after those in our church, but not so much the people outside our church. Now there are two things wrong with that way of thinking, one this was not just the church in Jerusalem that did this, it says all who believed were of one heart and soul. So that means that we’re not only to look at the needs of those in our church but all those who are in Christ Jesus our Lord. And yes this passage only talks about taking care of the needs among the believers, and yes we had better be doing that, but it does not mean to over look the needs of those in our towns, this just says that the things we have are not ours anyway so don’t let your fellow believers go without the things they need, and any time you are able help those outside the church. We forget all to often that the things we have aren’t ours anyway, they are all Gods and we need to remember that, when He returns He will know what we did with His things and to those who only used them for or on themselves will be shown who the real owner is and be punished for letting those they could have helped go without. That also means that when He comes, those of us who know and remembered that its all His and have used His things to help bless others and take care of those who otherwise would have gone without, He will bless us with so much more.

We as teens in the church need to show the light of our Lord Jesus Christ to all those we meet. We are the new generation and right Now He has chosen us to carry out His work. We are the ones that the loud is and has falling to. Now what are you going to do with it?

Hi Brett!

That was a great post. You are right, we do need to look around and see if there is anybody who needs a friend (especially elderly people!). Too often people look over them thinking of them as out-dated, old, and no fun. How wrong we sometimes think! People would be really surprised if they sat down with an elderly person and simply asked them what it was like as a kid, growing up. Chances are, they will talk and talk until they have nothing more to say. And what better thing can we do for them but sit and ask questions!?!?! I'm sure they will be very blessed by it.

When I lived in Michigan, every Thursday I went over to an elderly ladies house and sat with her for 4 hours. This ladies daughter, who took care of Marie (the elderly lady) asked me to come and just be with her in case she needs anything. This job turned out to be one of the best friendships I've ever been involved in. Marie would take up all 4 of those hours just talking about her family, who needs prayer, and what it was like when she was in nurses training. It was so enjoyable for her, and very much so for me. When I left Michigan 3 months ago, Marie was the hardest thing for me to leave. I still miss her greatly even though we have the phone.

Thanks for the encouragement, Brett!

Whoa.

I try to do my part in the church, and out, but what you said really makes me think and re-examine my behavior.

And yeah, voting by party is wrong, what I meant by me being a conserbative republican, i mean right now that's the party or the people who's morals match up closest to mine.
