Freak Bowling Accident - Lands The Reformed Home Schooler at the Hospital Emergency Room Nov. 9, 2007

Just to give a reassurance to one and all I am all right now, no need to worry.

Wednesday Morning our Social Worker - (for the adoption, process is still going on but thats another story I will share when it's completed) called she was suppose to visit us in the morning at 10, she had to cancel because she had gotten a cortozone shot and wasn't able to sit.  Anyways I sleep in until between 9 and 10 am because I work until 1 at my "real" job.  So I got up and was getting up and Michelle (the wife) says that she had called to reschedule until Thursday afternoon.

The Island Homeschoolers just started a bowling morning on Wednesdays recently and Michelle asked me if I wanted to go since we didn't have an appointment.  I said sure showered and we left pretty quickly, I didn't even eat breakfast, not that I usually do.  Bowling was in Charlottetown about 40 minutes away and we had about 15 minutes before it started.  So we arrive alittle late and we bowl.  I beat my wife which (in bowling).  Things seemed to be fine with me, we left and went out to lunch at a nice Italian Eatery in Charlottetown.  We went to Home Depot as it's the only one on the Island and we were looking for a new shoe/glove mitt cabinet for our entrance.

So in the store my hip starts really hurting me, now I'm a guy I can deal with pain really good, in fact Michelle aoften complains that I don't let her know when things are wrong.  So we go out to the car and I am really in pain now, I decide she better drive and she better drive me to the Hospital, we head to the Summerside Hospital because it's closer to home (though past it) and we thought it wouldn't be as busy, well we were wrong.  It was extremely busy and I had to wait almost 2 hours to see a doctor.

They weren't sure what was wrong probably a pulled muscle of some sort but just to make sure they gave me 2 kinds of drugs.  The Dr. thinks it was most likey a result of the bowling, maybe I moved wrong etc.  Well they don't seem to be helping too much as I'm still in pain (though I did go back to work today) and if anything it's getting worse, but I really hate to worry Michelle, so she doesn't know yet and probably won't  for a while until she reads my Blog if she does.

Bowling, huh? Maybe moved wrong? Ya, think, doc? :) Well, at least there's always better living through chemicals. I hope you feel better soon!

You didn't mention this when we chatted last night. Are you feeling any better yet?

About Me

I'm a former resident of Nova Scotia, Canada, I relocated to PEI in 2005. I'm married and have 2 adopted children. I am a Reformed Presbyterian and attend the Free Church of Scotland. I live in Middleton, Prince Edward Island, where my wife and I homeschool our 2 children. I run an Online Christian Bookstore. I was raised Roman Catholic, when I was in University I was challenged in my faith over the next few I read Paul's Epistle to the Romans which convicted me enough to know I was on the wrong path, in 1996 I hooked up with Rev. John Shearouse who I had met when I was student and he was part of a student ministry. He had just come back to Halifax, to plant a new Reformed church and I started to attend and made a profession of faith. I have been very active in Federal, Provincial and Municipal Politics, have managed many campaigns and having run as a provincial candidate in 1998.
