Share the Word Update - Cornerstone Bible Institute Oct. 23, 2007

Last year I started a program for my book store of giving back This program I called Share the Word it is still going on for administrative purposes it has been modified a little.  People can still make a donation of a Bible and I will match it.  The other change is that for every order over $30 I will donate a Bible, this is a slight change that came about because of administrative issues and simply for ease of explaining the program.  It's been going well but I had the most unusual problem I had a hard time finding a ministry to take the free Bibles. Now doesn't that sound Bizarre, I tried several local ministry organizations to be turned down, a local men's shelter ministry told me that the NKJV Bibles I was offering were not modern enough language.  I had many other excuses  and it eventually became disheartening as I thought this was something any Christian ministry would be happy to get, I was wrong.  It was something that dominated my prayers for a while as part of my concern for the church.  My prayers were answered as I remembered a man in the denomination I used to belong to who is the Executive Director of a prison ministry (Cornerstone Bible Institute)  and they took the Bibles, well I had them delivered to a prison for them. 

This whole experience left me questioning ways to help and what ministries to help, seeing so many ministries who's goals were suppose to be outreach to unbelievers refuse to accept a free offer of God's word made think of the sincerity and purpose of these ministries.  Thankfully there are organizations who truly desire to spread God's word and I think we all need to make sure our efforts are directed.

And thanks again to Cornerstone Bible Institute I commend you all to look at this ministry and see what you can do to help them in reaching the lost.
