Every year, there is a powwow at the local university and I always enjoy going. It's a very important part of my heritage that I don't want to be lost. Several tribes were there, including Navajo, Cherokee, Sioux, Lakota, etc. The regalia was beautiful and I can only imagine the amount of time it took to place each bead, shell, or bangle. Some were much more elaborate than others. We were only able to stay for an hour after the grand entrance but it was getting to be too much for all of the kids. :(
It had already been a very busy day. This morning we went to Carey's parents to great all of the family in town for Easter! The cousins were all excited to see each other. After some time of adjustment, we took the kids to small nearby park where there also happened to be a peace rally so that really excited the kids. Especially James since he noticed the Assistant Religious Education Director from Church. We spent about an hour there before it was time to head to the powwow. I tried to get a picture of a robin on the way there. It was the first one I'd seen of the season. I must have looked very silly running around trying to get the shot as I followed the bird. :D I finally got it, but it wasn't very good.
The musings of my childrens journey in the wonders of love, life, and spirituality. Love, Live, Laugh, and Learn. That's what it's all about. Welcome and blessed be.
