This issue has a page that is bent in a lot of places, but it can still be read. It also has one page missing that had a picture of Ellen Degeneris in her PJ's. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 - Hymn From the Heart - Where Jesus Is, 'Tis Heaven
This world has been a heav'n to me;
And 'mid earth's sorrows and its woe,
'Tis Heav'n my Jesus here to know.
REFRAIN:
O Hallelujah, yes, 'tis Heav'n,
'Tis Heav'n to know my sins forgiv'n;
On land or sea, what matters where?
Where Jesus is, 'Tis Heaven there.
Once Heaven seemed a far-off place,
Till Jesus showed His smiling face;
Now it's begun within my soul,
'Twill last while endless ages roll.
REFRAIN
What matters where on earth we dwell?
On mountain top, or in the dell,
In desert, or a mansion fair
Where Jesus is, 'tis Heav'n there.
O Hallelujah, yes, 'tis Heav'n,
'Tis Heav'n to know my sins forgiv'n;
U.S. or Ireland, what matters where?
Where Jesus is, 'Tis Heaven there.
Jan. 5, 2009 - Oh How Sweet the sound......
Of a new post!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't it lovely?? :)
OK so first off let me update y'all on the wonderful life of Julia. Remember the strung-out-beyond-reality-high girl I rang up a purchase for at my work back in September? Remember Loretta N? The police never took my statement, never contacted me about anything. I figure it was over and she was in jail. Well to my surprise, it is not over. I was informed 3 weeks ago my MOD that day, Jacque, received a SUBPOENA to appear in court to testify against Loretta, well actually against Nicole, Loretta is the name of the ID she stole apparently. Anyway, I felt bad for Jacque and was kind of glad I didn't have to go. I figured the court just needed the manager at the time. About a week passed and again to my surprise I received a letter in the mail from the court. Then inside the envelope, was a bright green piece of paper, I opened it up and in big, black, bold letters it said 'SUBPOENA'. I just about burst out laughing. I got a subpoena?! Must be a mistake. Nope, no mistake. My name was right under the 'Must appear in court...' sigh............ So this Thursday, The 8th, I have to go to court and testify against her. SIGH! I will probably have to meet the prosecuting attorney and then have to sit on the stand and tell my side of the story. I will have to do the whole 'Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth....' stuff... Sigh........ I will have to do an updated after the trial to tell you how it goes down...... BIG SIGH!
Lately I have not been able to add to my four books I am attempting to write. I was able to work on them a lot last year though. I go through phases, I want to write, and I don't, and so forth. I would really like to finish these books because I want to send copies to my family. I have written a few short stories though. I was able to write a story for Toria's contest back in Nov-Dec '08 which made me win my division :) Here is that short story:
It's hot, humid, my hair is clining to my head, bugs are crawling on my arms and legs, in my shoes, I am crouched to the ground like a tiger about to pounce, I even take refuge behind bushes, can it get any worse? Possibly. But I see her, the one thing I have been looking for these past three months. Just through the small forest of savannah trees she sit's calmly on a rock. Her long tail swaying back and forth in the hot wind.
I cannot imagine getting any closer for she will hear me, and attack for her young cubs are near. Twins. They roll around in the savannah grass, one takes a bite out of the grass, the crinkling of disgust soon follows and the cub spits it out just as the other cub pounces on it's twin. I pull out my camera and snap a few photo's. I see another set of bushes a far off, I could hide behind and gets some better shots. But I can't stand up, and scare them off. I guess I will crawl over.
Mud squishes through my hands as I crawl through more bushes and more mud piles. Piles? Mud doesn't pile up, it lays flat. Right? I realized the mud I just crawled through stinks. Really bad. 'oh man.' I think. 'I knew it could get worse'. But it doesn't matter, I want that photo, I am craving for the photo. I would crawl through a thorn bush to get my photo. I probably should have thought of the thornbush for sitting in front of me is a thornush. Around it are more thorn bushes. 'Joy'. I bite my lip and crawl through a narrow opening in the bush, holding back either screams of pain or laughter of stupidity, I am not sure which. I want that photo.
I see a clearing and exit the horrid bush snagging a few branches to my shirt and hair, just to enter into a pile of leaves, that seem to have a weird three leaf to a stalk pattern. Interesting, I'll come back later to investigate the strange leaf's. I see the bush I was heading for, I get behind it and point my camera through the thick bush to the rock. I get ready to take that picture I craved for, when I noticed the rock is empty, nothing sits on or below it. She is gone, with her cubs also. Frustrated I jump up and hit my head on a tree branch, knocking a snake out of the tree and onto my head. I quickly remove the snake, only to find it wasn't actually a snake, but a vine instead. Hah.
I start to walk back north toward my camp, so discouraged and sad I didn't get my photo. I am covered in "stinky mud", I have a few thorny branches attached to my clothing and long hair, there are probably bugs in my shoes and elsewhere. All that, and I didn't get my shot. As I am walking I spot something over a ridge, I can't make out the figure but I know it's an animal. I move closer to see her once again sitting on a rock near the river, her and her cubs. The cubs drink from the river as she watches her surrounding's intently. The wind is blowing again giving her a beautiful calm look. Here's my chance. I pull out my camera, aim, and click! I got my shot! I got the shot of rare King Cheetah. She is looking at me, not moving, just staring. It's almost as if she is saying 'Happy now?'. I nod and smile. Her and her cubs walk away from the river and head off into the horizon. I thank her as she moves off. I thank her.
So that’s one story I have written. I am working on another and I was going to post it but since this post turned out so long I decided to spare you J.

Jan. 5, 2009 - Sweet picture
This is a first! On Christmas Eve we put the 3 babies to bed and told the 4 "middles" they could have a slumber party, never thinking they would actually go to sleep. They did, and we played Trivial Pursuit until late. (The oldest cousin stayed up and played with us).

Christmas was an interesting experiment this year. All of the adults chose not to exchange gifts at all. Only the two youngest boys (Andrew and Ryan) got 2 gifts each, and then DH and I bought a couple books for each of the grandkids, and a couple little girls got homemade doll clothes. The result? No paper disaster strewn all over the living room, no lost toys, no crying. Nothing but peace and tranquility. Oops. Well, not quite tranquility. I forgot about the marshmallow guns. I was selling books at a bazaar and some vendor was selling marshmallow guns and ammo (marshmallows). I bought 5 of them, and they were a hit! Indoor playing, with Levi and Julie (both around 2 yrs.) rushing around to find and eat the "Mammo."
Much to my DD's chagrin, the real crazy shooter was her little princess, who refused to wear the scratchy party dress and went after her brothers and cousins in her petticoat. (And Kristel had such high hopes for her girl to be a lady, but I'm afraid she's her grandma's clone.

Jan. 5, 2009 - Template Drawing #3!
First off, I'm not proud to announce that NO ONE won the last template drawing!
You know why??
Because no one entered!!!!
Come on folks, spread the word!! I don't want this site to be a flop.
Anyways... We'll try drawing that template some other time.
The template that is currently up on the site is the one that will be drawn.
I decided that doing it this way would be easier for everyone.
Let me know if you liked it better when I posted a picture of the template, and then a link to view it bigger--I'm a big fan of input. =)
. . . . . . . . . .
Enter yourself in the drawing by leaving a comment, making sure to include a link to your blog.
Jan. 5, 2009 - Sore today....
Yesterday there was a prediction for more snow so my sister and I decided to shovel off the roof. F. had to do something else and my sister's husband was sick. so we put on our snow pants, borrowed a ladder from the neighbors and went at it. We decided just to do the garage and hope the house is okay, as that was scary enough and boy 'o boy, am I sore today! My shoulder mostly, just one side......I know, weird! i did not take any pictures of us up there, although thought I should have later, but it was a bit scary, I hate ladders, and the chance of sliding off was very real the whole time!
It was a fun adventure though and gave us the chance to see our neighbors dog come outside with a big litter of the cutest puppies! They are dark Golden retrievers and so, so cute! I wish they stayed like that! She had nine of them so that made them even more cute to see so many!
We did not get all the snow they said this time, but it may get warm and then cold which makes the snow there heavier, so I am glad we did it!
I took a hot bath with wintergreen oil in it to loosen up the muscles and may go see my friend the chiropractor, again this week! I am now in cozy pajamas and ready to curl up with a good book!
I have been sort of lazy so have not gotten my pictures downloaded, so be patient! You can see all our snow someday!
