Jun. 30, 2007 - It's not all about me...

It really isn't all about me.  Having kids proves that to me every day all day long.  Of course they think it is all about them so I  have to teach them to take the focus off themselves.  It is amazing how much I have grown since becoming a mom.  I am constantly striving to put others first and get my lazy body up and working.  Why is it so much easier to sit and read a book than it is to do the dishes? 

I have been trying much harder to put my husband first and love him the way he needs to be loved.  For instance he needs to hear how he is doing a great job.  He needs to know how much I appreciate his hard work all day long.  I try to anticipate his needs and get him a glass of sweet tea before he asks for one.  I also try to have the kids dressed appropriately and calmed down before he gets home.  I have started telling them how we need to take care of daddy because he works hard all day long for us.
