Jun. 5, 2008 - We got our new carseats!
I am so excited! UPS delivered the new car seats and boosters that I ordered last week. Amazon is so quick with shipping! Anyway, the UPS guy actually drove up my very steep driveway to bring me the boxes, they almost always park at the bottom and walk up. He was unpacking them by the side of the house and seeing as how I was alone at the time I asked him to bring them onto the porch. The boxes were huge! I felt like a kid at Christmas. I am still waiting on one more booster for Katie but it should be here soon. The UPS guy commented that we have been busy, pointing to the 3 carseats, and I don't know exactly what he meant. I mean three kids isn't alot. So I decided to stun him even further and said I had another booster on the way and that my oldest didn't need a seat anymore. His eyes grew very wide and astonished looking.
It really is all about your perspective. He thought 3 was alot and 5 floored him. I on the other hand think 5 is still on the smaller side. I find myself looking around lookinng for another one, of course it could be that I am looking for the neighbor's kid but I feel like I should have another one somewhere.
Anyway, we took the new car seat opportunity to clean out the van, reorganize the diaper bags and the emergency box in the back of the van. The van looks and smells great! (Thanks John!)
I installed the two convertibe seats so tight that even a car seat inspector would be proud! I am going to teach the kids a new rule about buckling their booster seats up when they get out of the car. I am trying to limit the number of flying objects in the event of a crash. Also, John took our single stroller and bungeed it up against the inside of the van, standing up. It isn't so tight that I can get it undone but tight enough to keep it off my floor.
I also added a small cooler to the front of my van, inbetween the two front seats, to hold all of our water bottles this summer. It seems like the heat has snuck up on me. I was amazed that yesterday it was in the 90s! We don't watch TV and this is one of those times when I should have checked the weather online.
I'll post pictures soon.
