My family and I went to the Toledo Zoo in Ohio where I took these pictures. It was a cool winter day, I saw a sparkling ice sculpture of a frog on a leaf.
I liked visiting on a winter day, because the zoo wasn’t very crowded and the animals were active. I had never seen polar bears so energetic. They were playing with toys and swimming like little children.
Even though it was cold there were cheetahs walking around in their pen.
The monkeys that were outside were constantly moving and dodging the snow patches. We went inside the monkey building where there were two baby monkeys playing busily. My two-year-old sister kept laughing as the monkeys would swing from place to place. After watching them for a while we concluded that she was like a baby monkey because of how exuberant she is. We also walked through the bird enclosures where there was a hungry pigeon who tried to eat from my sister's hand through the glass.
There was also an obnoxiously loud bird called a Screaming Piha.
Back outside we saw Grey Wolves lying in the snow. The last enclosure we visited had two bald eagles that looked fierce and strong. What a wonderful day at the zoo.
Hi, Forrest.
What wonderful pictures of the zoo. The polar bear and the eagles were really good. I will have to visit the Toledo!
Thanks for sharing and I look forward to viewing more and more of your wonderful photography.
Your zoo pictures are wonderful. I especially like the polar bear and the eagles. I have never seen an eagle close up like that, I know they are supposed to be so large but I just can't imagine how big they really are. Thanks for posting your pictures, it is encouraging to see them. It makes me really want to go to the zoo.
