I love Biking, but especially Mt. Biking! Usually my dad and I just ride on the country roads or around our house on the trail we made. The trouble is that we are chased by dogs of all shapes and sizes. We carry Vet. approved pepper spray, called Halt, with us incase they get too close. Last summer we found a Mt. Bike trail about an hour from our house. It was great!
We took along our water packs, Gatorade bottles, and some bananas for hydration and energy food.
The trails were the roughest I've been on yet. There were a lot of sharp turns, obstacles, and one drop that really surprised me the first time. It was only three feet into a dried up creek bed, but for someone who was use to road and easy trails it looked a lot bigger. There was a mild winding downward slope that quickly changed direction into a root infested 70 degree climb.
It was hard to shift and climb at the same time. My dad was in the lead so I have pictures of him at the top.
There was beautiful scenery all around us. Since it was a little muddy that day we got splattered, but it was worth it! It was a blast! I can't wait to ride again this year!
It looks like you had so much fun that day. All the sunshine and green colors are refreshing to look at too. It will be like that again. Yippee. You and your dad seem to have so much fun together, what a blessing!!
